Taehyung stared at her dumbly. “Really?”
Nia nodded. “We’ve waited long enough. We met thirteen years ago. I mean, Moon thought we’d be married with kids by now, apparently.”
He laughed. “Are you sure? I don’t want you to feel pressured just bec-”
Nia sat up and silenced him with a kiss. His eyes went wide.
“I’m serious, Tae. I want to marry you.”
He continued to stare down at her, his shocked expression slowly turning into a grin. He bent down and kissed her again, and she could feel his grin against her mouth. She smiled.

As it turned out, Moon decided she was moving back to Korea. If it was for Hobi or for Nia, no one was sure. She’d just randomly marched into Taehyung and Nia’s shared office one day and announced she was moving to Seoul. They’d shared a confused glance before going back to their work.
She’d moved fairly fast, too. She’d bought a condo downtown and flown back to Paris to pack her belongings up. She’d be back in a week. And Nia had no idea how to handle that news. It had been so spur of the moment that she hadn’t really had time to react. There was so much going on.
Sua had been the first to notice the ring on Nia’s finger. It had taken her a whole five days.
“Did he propose?” She gasped as she grabbed Nia’s hand to examine the ring.
“Um…not exactly. It’s complicated.”
“Well, we have a whole lunch hour. I need to hear it all!”
——————–
They’d ended up going to the café near Hyuna’s work, and she’d seen them while she was getting her lunch. She nearly pounced on Nia the moment she saw her.
“Where have you been??? It’s been a month since I saw you!”
Nia laughed awkwardly. “It’s been a crazy month. Sit down.” She motioned to Sua. “This is Sua. She’s my coworker. Sua, this is Hyuna.”
Both of the girls nodded in greeting to each other, but Nia could tell they were both waiting for her to talk.
“All right, all right.” Nia turned to Hyuna. “So, to catch you up, I got engaged this weekend.”
“What?! Didn’t you just break up with Hobi?”
“Two months ago, yeah. Just wait. I’ll explain what happened.”
——————–
Hyuna was near choking on her drink. “You proposed to him?”
“…yup.”
“Are you for real?” Sua asked.
Nia just nodded.
“I can’t believe this! Last time we talked, you didn’t know what to do about your feelings for him!” Hyuna exclaimed.
Nia shrugged. “We’ve been getting to know each other better, and recovering my memories has helped too… We met thirteen years ago, you know? I think it’s time to take the next step.”
Both girls nodded, still both quite shocked.
“I just can’t believe he kept that ring for so long,” Sua commented.
“Well, he clearly never stopped loving her.” Hyuna gushed. She turned to Nia. “You have to let me meet him!”
“Maybe one of these days,” Nia laughed. “He’s pretty busy, you know.”
Hyuna sighed. “Yes, yes, I know.”
Oh this is going to be a whirlwind of action and emotions!
