Nia was halfway through her sandwich when she decided to ask again.
“What’s the surprise?”
Sua sat there chewing for a few moments before stating simply, “I’m pregnant.”
“You’re what?” Nia asked loudly enough for a few people sitting at tables around them to look at her strangely.
Sua nodded and continued eating, the smile on her face slowly turning into a grin.
“How long have you two been married?”
“Almost six years now,” Sua laughed.
Nia’s eyes bugged out of her head. “Really?”
Sua nodded. “Our anniversary is in April.” She shrugged. “We’ve known each other since we were juniors in high school, so it really isn’t that long.”
“How long did you date, then?”
“Five years,” Sua laughed. “It took him nearly a year to ask me out.”
“You’re lucky to have been together that long.”

The next few weeks dragged on. Taehyung seemed to be very busy, and Sua wasn’t in the office half the time, so Nia had no one to talk to. Just hours and hours of work. Paperwork got boring really fast.
It had also been about a month since she’d heard from Moon, which was a bit concerning. Nia supposed she could still be unpacking, but it was unlikely. Moving didn’t take a whole month, did it?
Nia picked her phone up and called Moon.
“Hello…? Why are you calling?” Moon asked. She sounded drained.
“I hadn’t heard from you in a while, so I was wondering how you were doing,” Nia explained. “Are you all right? You sound like you’ve been crying.”
“It’s…nothing.”
Nia raised an eyebrow. “Can I come see you? My lunch break starts in ten minutes.”

Nia stepped into the apartment complex. It seemed to be one of the nicer ones in Seoul. Not that Nia had seen most of them. Moon had said she lived on the fifth floor, so Nia headed for the elevator. A few minutes later, she was knocking on the door to Moon’s apartment.
“It’s open,” Moon told her over text.
Nia twisted the doorknob and pushed the door open. Her eyes grew wide as she saw the mess the apartment was. She stepped in and shut the door behind her before pulling her shoes off and putting them by the door.
She slowly made her way to the living room, taking in what a mess the place was. It didn’t even look like Moon had unpacked most of her stuff yet. The living room was worse. There were takeout boxes everywhere, and the couch was covered in pillows. Moon popped her head out from behind one of them.
“I can’t believe you really came.”
“Why wouldn’t I?” Nia asked. She looked around the room before asking, “What’s wrong?”
Moon sighed and shut her laptop before sitting up and shoving half the pillows off the couch.
“There’s a lot wrong.”
