“Tae, you never told me where you’re from!” Jimin exclaimed. It was halftime in the game, so the guys were devouring snacks.
Taehyung laughed. “I’m from Seoul. I wouldn’t be here if I hadn’t been born here.”
“Really?” Yoongi asked.
Taehyung nodded. “My mom moved up here from Daegu to chase my dad, but then she was stuck here with no money after I was born.”
“Are your parents not together?” Jungkook asked softly.
“Nope. Never were, I don’t think. My mom chased my dad like a little puppy dog, but as soon as she found out she was pregnant, he left. I’m not even sure why he bothered to find me when he retired, honestly.”
“That sucks,” Hobi blew out a puff of air. “You never knew your dad, then?”
“Nope. Not sure I want to either after the way he treated my mom.”
“The game is back on!” Jimin exclaimed, breaking the conversation apart.
Today had been odd. Taehyung had never had anyone but Nia care about him. And it was even stranger to have guy friends who cared.

Hyuna really hadn’t expected Jin to text her first. Moon had given her his number, but she didn’t know what to do with it. But today during her lunch break, he’d texted.
“Hey, it’s Jin. Moon gave me your number. I was wondering if we could meet up again to talk. I know I kinda screwed up last time, but I’d like another chance.”
Hyuna sighed. “Can we meet for dinner tonight?”
“Sure! Where and what time?”
Hyuna smiled. Maybe she should give him another chance.
That evening when she met him at the restaurant she’d chosen, he showed up looking dashing. Just like all those years ago when he’d broken her heart.
“Hi there,” he smiled.
“Hi.”
“I’ve missed you.”
“Have you?”
He nodded. “I’m hoping tonight we can start again. I’ve spent nine years regretting leaving you, and I don’t want to regret anything anymore.”
Hyuna stared up at him. “How can I be sure you won’t run away again?”
“I can’t run away. I’m tied to a contract with Space Paws.”
Hyuna laughed. “I can’t believe you’re the main voice actor on a kids’ show.”
Jin shrugged. “What can I say? It’s fun.”
“What happened to media?”
“I threw that out the window when I was offered an audition. Interests change, you know? I mean, you work at a gift shop. I never would’ve seen you doing that.”
“Me neither. I needed a job a couple years back and my cousin was working there at the time, so she recommended me. There’s not much to the story.”
Jin smiled. “We’ve both changed a lot, haven’t we?”
“Do you think we can make it work?”
“If we want it to, I think we can.”
“Good. Because I want it to.”
Hyuna and Jin! Of course he looked dashing, doesn’t he always? XD
