Hyuna knocked on the door to Jin’s apartment.  He’d told her his afternoon was free, so she decided she’d come to him today.  A moment later, the door was answered by a man with dark pink hair.  She stared up at him for a minute.

“Um…do you have a reason for being here?” the guy asked, snapping her out of her stupor.

“Uh, yeah, does Jin live here?”

The man grinned. “Oh, I see.  Come on in.” He turned and yelled down the hall. “Jin!  Your girl is here!”

“Hang on a minute!” Jin hollered back.

“I’m Namjoon.” The man introduced himself.  He pointed to a blonde-headed boy that was sitting on the couch without his shirt on.  He had a headset on and was clearly playing a video game. “That’s Zane.”

“I see.  I’m Hyuna.  I guess you already knew I’m Jin’s girlfriend….”

“Oh yeah.  I’ve been waiting to meet you for months.  He hasn’t dated anyone for as long as I can remember.”

“How long have you known each other?”

“Three years now?  We’re actors in the same show.” Namjoon laughed.

“You’re an actor…for a kids’ TV show?”

He nodded. “I don’t seem like the type, do I?”

“Um…no.” She laughed. “Is that why your hair is pink?”

“Nah.  My niece wanted me to dye my hair pink, so I did.”

“Oh.  That’s cute.”

“Hyuna!  You wanted to go to that seafood place up the street, right?” Jin asked, walking out as he tugged a shirt over his head.

“Um…yes.” She responded, catching a glance at his toned stomach right before his shirt fell to cover it.

“Great!  Let’s go!”

“Sua, what on earth are you doing?” Jungkook asked as he entered the kitchen.  He’d found all three babies asleep in bouncers in the living room when he got home.

“I’m making dinner for Nia and Tae.  They’ve been through hell this week, and neither of them need to be making dinner.”

Jungkook rubbed his forehead. “Don’t you think this is a bit much?  Aren’t you exhausted already?”

“Eh.  I’ll be all right.  You remember how bad it was four years ago when we lost both of the babies….”

Jungkook nodded wordlessly. “Is there anything I can help you with?”

“Yeah.  You can sauté the vegetables.”

He let out an airy laugh. “Yes, ma’am!”

——————–

Nia’s phone buzzed, and she rolled over in bed, picking it up to squint at it.

“What is it?” Tae mumbled, still clinging to Nia in his half-asleep state.  Their sleep schedule had been totally ruined in the past two days.

“Uh…it’s Sua.  She said she’s here.  I’m gonna go let her in.” Nia bent down to kiss Tae’s forehead before slipping out of his arms and heading to the living room.

The moment Nia opened the door, Sua stepped in with a grin on her face. “I made you guys dinner for the next two nights.  I thought it was the least I could do since I can’t be here for you.”

Nia smiled faintly. “You didn’t have to do that.  You didn’t overwork yourself to make this, did you?” she asked as she led Sua to the kitchen.

“I had some time this afternoon while the triplets were asleep.  Jungkook helped me.”

“How are the babies?” Nia asked, almost begrudgingly.

“They’re fine.  How are you?” Sua knew the last thing they needed to talk about right now was her babies.

“I’m…struggling.  I went to see my mom the other day.  I asked her if she’d ever lost a baby.” Nia’s eyes flooded with tears. “Sua…she lost five.”

Sua’s eyes widened. “Oh.  And you’re scared…that you won’t be able to have kids?”

Nia nodded. “Even more than before.”

Sua reached out and pulled Nia into a hug. “It’ll be ok.  You don’t know why she had so much trouble, right?  Just because she did doesn’t mean you will, either.  Miscarriages happen so often, and a lot of the time there’s not an obvious answer for why.”

“I…I know.” Nia buried her face in Sua’s shoulder. “I hope you’re right.  I want a baby so bad.  And right now…adopting doesn’t feel like it will be the same.  Tae said we could adopt if we can’t have any kids, but I want the experience.  I want to carry them….”

Sua nodded. “You’ll get to, Nia.”
