Breakfast was awkwardly silent for the first time ever as all four girls ate.
“How are you guys doing?” Moon asked.
The silence was still ear-splitting.
“I don’t know,” Nia admitted. “We should go buy the triplets’ outfits soon, though.”
Hyuna looked around. “Well, Jin and I have been going out on dates more frequently.”
All eyes turned to her. “Really?” Moon gasped.
Hyuna nodded. “We’re still working things out, but it’s getting better.”
“Is he coming with you to the wedding?” Nia asked, trying to sound excited.
“I think so. If…that’s all right.”
“Of course.”
“I didn’t think to ask, but it’s ok if I bring Hobi with me, right?” Moon asked.
Nia nodded. “I’d like it if he was there. It just seems too awkward to ask.”
Moon beamed.
“You really like him, don’t you?”
“You don’t mind, do you?”
Nia shook her head. “Why would I? I don’t think I was ever in love with him, and we’re not together anymore.”
Moon shrugged. “Just didn’t want to make things weird between us.”
Sua, who had still been silent the whole time, let out an exasperated sigh. “I forgot Jungkook has to go in at eleven. I’m going to have to get going.”
“Do you need help with the triplets this week? I could come over again…” Nia muttered.
“Only if you want to. I don’t want you coming over if it’s going to pain you to see them.”
Nia nodded. “I’ll…think about it then.”
——————–
“Ok, I’m thinking we go with the red dress. It’ll match your dress and mine. And then we can get the little tuxedo onesies for the boys.”
Jiwoon cooed from his seat in the cart, and Sua and Moon both laughed.
“I’ve got a question for you,” Sua countered.
“What is it?”
“You’re not…mad that Nia chose me as her maid of honor, right?”
Moon shook her head. “I get it. I was her best friend in high school. We’re not as close anymore. It’s understandable. Besides, it’s not like she could choose both of us. It’s a tough choice to make.”
Sua laughed. “I can’t even imagine having a choice. My mom was mine!”
“Really?” Moon asked, shocked.
“We married straight out of college, and I had no friends at the time. It was basically my only option.”
“Must’ve been a small wedding.”
“Oh, it was. We got married in his parents’ backyard.”
“Oh, wow.”
“So, you and Hobi, huh?”
“Don’t even start.”
Sua didn’t even have time to laugh, because Jinri started wailing.
