“Jungkook, see those two girls over there?” Tae pointed across the lane at Marilyn and Lily.
Jungkook nodded.
“I saw them yesterday. When I picked up breakfast at that little cafe near our hotel.”
“They’re cute.”
“Aren’t they, though? But the dark-haired one really caught my eye.”
“Really? I think the redhead is gorgeous.”
Tae quirked an eyebrow at Jungkook. “Want to go talk to them?”
Tae turned to stare at the brunette. He had wanted to speak to her yesterday, but he’d been in a hurry to get to practice. She was stunning. She had volumes of thick, dark hair cascading down her back, and her beautiful, olive skin shone in the sun.
“Looking for an adventure, huh?”
Tae glanced sharply at Jungkook, having caught the undertone in his soft voice. “It’ll be ok. We can’t stop living just because everyone has a video camera in their hands these days.”
Jungkook shrugged, internally still a little media-shy after having a friend attacked for being mistaken as his girlfriend. On the other hand, the redhead sure was adorable. It would be fun getting to know her.
He inclined his head toward the girls and started walking their way. Tae followed him, a huge grin on his face.
“Marilyn,” Lily hissed.
“What?”
Casting a sideways glance past Marilyn’s shoulder, Lily responded, “Don’t look now, but they’re coming this way!”
“Who’s coming this way?”
“Jungkook and Tae!”
“What?” Marilyn squeaked, immediately spinning around to look behind her.
She came almost face to face with Tae in that moment.
“Hello, beautiful,” Tae gave her his boxiest smile ever.
Marilyn grinned with pleasure all the way to her toes. “Hi.”
Jungkook was gazing down at Lily, an indiscernible expression on his face. Lily sighed. He was so gorgeous. His dark locks were falling into his eyes yet again. She always wanted to reach up and brush them to the side, so he could see clearly. Did it not bother him?
“Hi, Jungkook,” she greeted him boldly.
Suddenly, he grinned at her, and she nearly fainted.
“So…you know who I am?” His beautiful, dark eyes had not left her face.
“Of course! I was at your concert last night!”
He lifted his left eyebrow. “Were you?”
Tae looked from one girl to the other before spearing Marilyn with his exotic, dark eyes. “So, you’re both ARMY?” His deep voice was like music to Marilyn’s ears even when he wasn’t singing.
She nodded. “Yes!”
“I saw you yesterday, didn’t I? In the little breakfast cafe?”
She grinned at him, and he thought she couldn’t possibly look any lovelier than she did in this moment right here, her dark, wavy hair cascading over her shoulder and framing her adorable face, highlighting her beautiful eyes.
“Yes, we were there.”
“I wanted to introduce myself then, but we were on our way to practice for the concert.”
“It’s ok,” she shrugged, not quite sure what to say. Yet again. At least this time Tae had approached her.
“What’s your name?” Jungkook asked Lily.
“Lylilianh. But my friends call me Lily.”
“Hi, Lily. It’s nice to meet you.” Jungkook held out his hand, and Lily took it gratefully, for a moment clinging to it like a drowning woman would a lifesaver.
Why was she feeling so light-headed? Was Marilyn? She didn’t spare a glance at her friend, though, for Jungkook’s gorgeous, dark eyes were still locked on her own, her hand remaining safely held within his fingers’ embrace.
Tae glanced at them before turning his attention back to Marilyn. He decided he would follow suit. He held out his hand. “What’s your name, beautiful girl?” Then he let loose that adorable grin once more, revealing all his teeth, before murmuring as he bent his head down towards her, “Or shall I just continue to call you ‘beautiful girl’?”
He could call her “beautiful girl” for the rest of her life!
She gazed up at him. He really did tower over her! And momentarily, Marilyn blushed as she recalled Lily’s words about the difficulty which she would experience trying to kiss a man so much taller than her.
As Tae gazed down at Marilyn, he noticed an intriguing blush staining her cheeks. What on earth was she thinking about?
She reached out and took his hand. “I’m Marilyn.”
Tae smiled at her yet again as his fingers enclosed her own. “Nice to meet you, Marilyn, but I think I might prefer to call you ‘beautiful girl.’”
He watched, fascinated, as her blush deepened.
Actually, she’d prefer that too.
Neither of them could ignore the electricity arcing between them where their hands were joined. Jungkook and Lily were experiencing similar fireworks themselves. And so it was that in the middle of California Adventure, Jungkook and Tae stood for several moments clasping the hands of two girls they’d just met in a Disneyland amusement park. Finally, they each reclaimed their hands.
Tae cleared his throat. “Do you ladies like rollercoasters?” He glanced towards the Incredicoaster behind the girls.
Her eyes wide, Marilyn nodded enthusiastically. “We were just going to go ride it!”
Jungkook’s face split into a heart-shattering grin, excitement dancing in his eyes. “Can we join you?”
“Definitely!” Lily exclaimed.
“Yes!” Jungkook rejoiced, doing a fist pump.
Lily grinned at him. He was so cute!
The four of them walked towards the long line. Marilyn glanced at Tae. “Do you get preferential treatment here?”
“Not today. We’re just here as two regular people.”
Both girls just laughed. “Yeah, right!” Marilyn commented.
“Really! We are!” Tae’s deep voice boomed. “What? Are we not incognito enough?”
Marilyn glanced up at his beret and sunglasses, sunglasses which had slipped down his nose to reveal his gorgeous eyes. Then she looked at Jungkook, his bucket hat pulled halfway down his face, obscuring it from view unless he tipped his head back. Or unless you were as short as Marilyn was.
“Well, maybe Jungkook could pass as a regular – albeit gorgeous – customer if no one looks up his hat. But, Tae, uh, no! You wore your beret, for crying out loud! Any ARMY worth her salt knows you favor berets!”
“So, should I take it off then?”
“Absolutely not! Just don’t look so tall. And don’t make eye contact with anyone.” But me.
Tae grinned at her.
“And absolutely, under no circumstances, reveal your boxy smile!”
Tae and Jungkook both laughed, clearly disregarding her instructions.
She sighed. Today was going to be a long day. A long, wonderful day, hopefully.
