The delightful evening came to an end all too soon. The fourteen of us had enjoyed pizza and laughter, the Bangtan Boys being their usual hilarious selves. We all began to depart around nine o’clock. Namjoon and Lydia took their leave first, followed by Yoongi, Jin, May, and Sherry, who all piled into Jin’s rental car. Or at least, I thought they had. Hobi offered to drive Sandra and Sarah to their hotel. Tae decided to tag along.
That left me and Jungkook, Sanduni and Jimin. We headed back to our hotel, bidding the boys goodnight as Jungkook dropped us at the front door. He and Jimin had an errand to run. Sanduni and I headed for our room, both wired from the events of the evening. We stayed up for a while talking.
Sanduni was clearly head over heels for Jimin. I was battling similar feelings for Jungkook. She seemed to be basking in it. Whereas, it was troubling me. I think too much, I guess. The impossible future was on my mind. She was reveling in the amazing present while I grappled with the likelihood of failing to secure a future that would embrace us all.
I sighed. Clearly, I needed sleep. Surely, things would look better in the morning…

Meanwhile, Yoongi had escorted May out of the pizza parlor, intending to walk her back to her hotel. He’d turned to Jin.
“I’m going to walk May back to her hotel.” He gave Jin a very speaking glance.
Jin hid his smile, acting serious for Yoongi’s sake, to help him save face. Jin didn’t want Yoongi to know how absolutely adorable he found him right now. Instead of responding, he turned towards Sherry.
“May I escort you home, princess?”
Sherry smiled at him. “Yes. Thank you, dear prince!”
They both chuckled and headed for his car.
Yoongi waved his hand at them as he turned towards May. “It’s ok if I walk you back to your hotel?”
She nodded.
Yoongi liked this quiet girl. A lot.

Namjoon glanced down at the beautiful girl walking beside him. He studied her profile in the city lights reflecting off the tall buildings surrounding them. He wished he had more time. He’d love to stay up the whole night and get to know her.
What did she think about? What moved her heart? Who was she? What lit her passion for life? How did she desire to change the world around her?
Just then, as his hungry eyes devoured her lovely face, she looked up at him. What Lydia saw in Namjoon’s face stilled her heart and stole her breath. There was an unfamiliar tenderness in his eyes that made her heart ache with longing. Would Namjoon be different from the other men who had entered – and later left – her life? Would he care about her heart more than he did her beauty? Would he, in fact, pursue her for what she had buried deep within her soul, instead of just craving the touch of her lips against his own?
