The weeks had passed in the blink of an eye, and it had been nearly a month since she’d lost the baby now. Time felt like it was moving so slowly, but the wedding was in less than two weeks. As much as she didn’t want to cancel it, the loss still made her heart heavy. Would she be able to enjoy the celebration with her friends and family, or would it all just be too much to handle?
“Hey there.”
Nia smiled as Taehyung wrapped his arms around her waist and buried his nose in her neck.
“How you doing, honey?”
“I’m ok,” she muttered. “I was trying to make a salad…but you see how that’s going.”
He hummed in response as he glanced at all the uncut vegetables scattered over the counter.
“Are you hungry?”
“Not really.”
“Let’s put this away for later then, hmm?”
He kissed her temple before reaching out to grab a few of the vegetables she’d pulled out. She dumped the few vegetables she had into a bowl and stuck it in the fridge. Once she closed the fridge he tugged on her wrist and pulled her into a hug.
“Did you have a good time with Jisung today?”
She nodded. “It was ok.”
He hummed. “Would you like to go to our room?”
“Ok.”
Once Taehyung had sat on their bed, she climbed onto the bed and straddled his lap. He wrapped his arms around her waist again and smiled up at her.
“Hi there.”
“Hi,” she smiled faintly. She brushed her thumb across his cheek. “I’ve missed you.”
He bumped his nose into hers. “I’ve missed you too.”
She ran her thumb over his lips a few times before finally leaning down to kiss him. He hummed before pulling away slightly.
“Let me take care of you tonight.”
She hesitated. “Tae…but what if….”
“It’s ok. We’ll use protection.”
She let out a breath. “Ok. Ok, we can do that.”
“Yeah?” he asked softly before kissing her again.
She drew in a few more breaths in the brief moments he pulled away from her as she assured herself it would be ok. They’d be careful, and she wouldn’t have to worry about keeping another baby alive until long after the wedding was over.
