Namjoon couldn’t get the sight of the poor kid having his bone sticking out of his flesh out of his head. It was absolutely disgusting. He looked down at the girl who had fallen asleep crying on his chest. He hadn’t even asked her name yet. However, he had caught that her son’s name was Hajun. He suddenly saw another memory from his childhood. Why did everything remind him of his baby brother?
It had been a snowy winter day. Taehyung’s birthday, of all days. The streets were iced over and the ground was white for as far as the eye could see.
“Juju, look! Snow!”
Namjoon smiled. A special gift just for Taehyung’s birthday. It wasn’t often that it snowed at this time of year. Taehyung was 5 already. How was that possible? He looked down at the small boy next to him. He was on his tiptoes, staring out the window at the frosty glory.
“Juju, can we go play?”
“Go get your coat and gloves on. Then we can go outside.”
Taehyung grinned and ran to his bedroom. He returned not even a minute later, his already coat on. He was attempting to pull on his gloves.
“Juju, I need help.” Taehyung held his half-gloved hand out to Namjoon.
Namjoon quickly helped Taehyung pull on the glove. Then he helped him put on the other one. Then he put on Taehyung’s hat. And he helped him put his boots on. Then he put all of his own garments on.
“Ok. We’re ready now.”
Taehyung grinned. “Yay!” He grabbed Namjoon’s hand and ran for the door, pulling him outside.
They spent the next half an hour throwing snowballs at each other and building snowmen. Namjoon held Taehyung up so that he could put the nose on their last snowman. He set Taehyung down after they were both satisfied with the placement of the carrot.
“Can we make a snow fort?”
Namjoon smiled and nodded. Taehyung took off running towards the spot they always made them in. And that’s when it happened. It all happened so fast. Taehyung slipped, falling down onto his arm. He screamed in pain and burst into tears.
“Juju! Juju…” He sobbed.
Namjoon ran to him as quickly as possible. “Does it hurt really badly?”
“Y-yeah…” Taehyung’s lip trembled. “Juju…it really hurts…”
“Ok, ok, let’s get you inside.” Namjoon pulled him up, trying his best not to cause Taehyung any more pain. Taehyung cried the whole walk to the house, and cried harder when Namjoon, with the help of their mother, had pulled his coat off.
“Tae, where does it hurt?”
“U-uh…h-here…” Taehyung pointed to the center of his forearm.
Namjoon gingerly took Taehyung’s arm in his hands, making Taehyung cry even harder than he already was. Namjoon pulled away the sleeve of Taehyung’s long-sleeved shirt, revealing Taehyung’s arm that was now pink. Namjoon gently pressed on Taehyung’s arm.
“N-no J-juju d-don’t it h-hurts…”
Namjoon looked up at his mother. This had not been a good birthday for Taehyung.
A few hours later, they returned from the ER. Taehyung’s arm was now in a temporary cast, and he was hugging it against his chest.
“Juju…how long I have to keep the cast?”
“You’ll have to keep it for a while. It’s going to keep your arm together while it heals.”
“Oh…” Taehyung looked down at his arm. He traced his small finger across it. Namjoon watched as tears started to form in his eyes.
“I not want to keep it, Juju…”
“I know, but you need to.”
Taehyung sighed and blinked tears from his eyes. “Juju…if we not go outside…this would not happen…”
“Don’t say that, Tae.” Namjoon wiped the tears from Taehyung’s eyes. “Do you want some hot chocolate? It might make you feel better.”
Taehyung nodded his small head slowly.
“All right.” Namjoon reached out to ruffle Taehyung’s hair. He felt so bad for his younger brother. He had broken his arm. On his birthday. In the middle of winter, which was his favorite season. “Let’s go watch a movie, ok? I’ll ask Mrs. Choi to make hot chocolate. You go choose a movie.”
Taehyung nodded slowly and ran out to the living room.

“You’re telling me we don’t have to do anymore detective work?” Jimin frowned.
“Hey, at least Tae actually acted on his feelings. Maybe things will be a lot better now.”
Jimin raised an eyebrow. This was like a Korean drama, wasn’t it? It would appear all good and then there would be some dramatic plot twist. Jimin smiled at his silliness.
“What is it?”
“Oh, I was just thinking that if this were a Korean drama this wouldn’t be the end. There would be some dramatic plot twist coming next. But we live in the real world, so that probably won’t happen.”
Jungkook laughed. “Good one, Jimin.”

Eunji looked down at the hand intertwined with hers. For some odd reason, that hand comforted her. It made her feel safe. She looked up at Taehyung. Then down at the rose in her other hand. She had to be dreaming. There was no way this was real. He had just confessed his undying love to her. And her engagement with Namjoon had been called off. She supposed it had to be real, though. If it were a dream there truly would’ve been cherry blossoms raining from the trees. Her imagination was too set on romance for it to have forgotten the cherry blossoms.
“Eunji.”
She looked over at Taehyung again. His voice was like a magnet drawing her.
“We should come up with pet names for each other.”
Pet names? Hmm… Pet names. Eunji had never thought of giving Taehyung a pet name. Why hadn’t it occurred to her?
Taehyung saw the confusion on her face. “We don’t have to if you don’t want to. It was just a thought.”
“No! I want to give you a pet name!” Had she just said that aloud? All of it?
Taehyung watched as she turned bright red. “All right then, give me one.” He replied cheekily.
“I…” Eunji could feel her cheeks heating up.
“I’ll call you jagi. What will you call me?”
“Uh…”
Taehyung giggled. “It’s ok. You don’t have to think of one now. You have the rest of eternity.” He pushed a lock of hair behind her ear.
Eunji looked up at him with admiration in her eyes. He was so sweet! The word ‘sweet’ made her think of his lips. She looked down at them. Did they taste sweet? They sure looked like they did. They were soft, smooth…
Taehyung watched as Eunji’s gaze fell to his lips. He looked down at hers. Oh! They looked so beautiful! They were a light pink shade, and her cupid’s bow looked ready to take a shot. Maybe it had sent an arrow flying into his heart. Maybe it was why he was smitten with her. He wanted to kiss her now. His fingers traveled from her ear down to her chin, and he grasped it softly. He bent his head towards her. Then she pushed herself up on tiptoe, letting him capture her lips with his own. Lightning bolts traveled through his whole body, leaving even his toes tingling. Bliss mixed with happiness and love as he fell into the kiss. He was so happy. He could finally be happy. Was he finally going to get his happily ever after?
