The Twenty-Seven-Year Itch – Chapter 12: A Well-plotted Strategy

Truthfully, Yoongi was also concerned.  He was worried that her boyfriend would prove more troublesome than he would like.  So he headed straight for Big Hit’s headquarters and their security team.  He discussed the situation with them and returned to school with a team of security guards.  They stationed themselves on the perimeter.  The main problem was that none of them knew what the boyfriend looked like.

Yoongi grabbed some lunch and brought it to the school office around noon time.  He asked the secretary if she could page Anastasia.  Soon, the young teacher appeared.

Yoongi grinned at her.  “I brought you lunch.”  He held up the bag.

“Thanks,” she responded, suddenly feeling shy.  “Come with me.  I’ll show you my classroom.”

As they walked towards her room, he suddenly asked her quietly, “Can you text me a picture of your boyfriend?  My security team needs to know what he looks like.”

“Wait.  What?” She stopped walking and stared in shock at him.

“I’ve brought several bodyguards with me.  They’re stationed outside.  But they don’t know what he looks like.  So right now, he could walk right past them.”

She swallowed.  Apparently, Yoongi didn’t mess around.  He was taking the threat to her safety very seriously.  Tears filled her eyes.

“Yoongi, I owe you an apology.  I’m sorry.  You’re more concerned about me than I ever believed you would be.”

Uncertain what to say, he simply blinked.  Then he remembered.  “What’s your phone number?”

She gave it to him.  He texted her.  “Send me his picture.”

A moment later, she sent several photos of her soon-to-be-ex-boyfriend, which Yoongi forwarded to their security detail.

Then he grinned at her and asserted, “Now we can go enjoy our lunch!”

He showed up near the end of school.  He didn’t know who that guy was that she’d been speaking to before school.  But she had touched him.  That had been the last straw!  This girl had been jumping on his nerves for three months now.

Every time he hit her, she played the victim.  But now he had proof that he was the victim.  She was clearly cheating on him with some pretty boy.  Some pretty boy who needed to be taught a very strong lesson.  So did she.  If she thought that he’d punished her in the past, she hadn’t seen anything yet!  So he had returned to the school to catch them in the act.  He waited outside for over an hour.

Just as he suspected, she texted him to tell him that she had to work late.  An emergency teacher meeting.  Now he had her!  He’d caught her in a lie; he was sure of it!  With glee, he watched her emerge a few minutes later.  The pretty boy met her at the front gate.  He watched them walk down the street.  He followed them at a discreet distance.  Where were they headed?

He was fuming.  She had lied to him.  She had cheated on him.  She had believed he would be gullible too, apparently.  But she was wrong.  He was going to punish both of them.  He could be patient when it was required of him.  He would bide his time.  He would strike at just the right moment.

What her stalker didn’t know was that he was being observed.  Yoongi had fully expected Stasia’s boyfriend to be spying on her.  He had also expected the man’s jealousy to kick into high gear when Yoongi appeared.  He had avoided putting her into a car on purpose to draw the man out.

As Yoongi escorted her down the block, he kept an eye out for the violent man and noticed the precise moment he began to follow them.  Yoongi wasn’t the only one who noticed.  His bodyguards, all dressed like regular people – one was a janitor, another, a father complete with child, the third was posing as a fellow teacher, and the fourth was just hanging out shooting hoops at the nearby basketball court – they were all watching the man too.

Slowly, unobtrusively, they began to follow him.  They were studiously observing him, an eye out for the appearance of any weapons.  But they saw none.  Stasia had said that up until this point in time, he had always used just his fists.  Or an open hand.  Except for one time.  Once, there had been a knife.  Still, the men were on guard.  A weapon could make an appearance at any time.  And if it did, it could prove to be a game changer.  They knew Yoongi was unarmed.  As was Stasia.
