Jungkook was the epitome of sweetness. Among patisseries in Seoul, Passion 5 must have earned the same reputation. So it was the perfect place for a first date with him. Daniela smiled happily as she ate the remainder of her treats in silence. Jungkook, too, seemed to have lost his voice as he devoured one goody after another.
Finally, an empty tray and two bare plates stared back at them. At least, they were less disconcerting than a cream puff owl. The corner of Daniela’s mouth quirked upward in a half-smile.
Jungkook was studying her face. “Want anything else?”
She glanced up at him. “Anything else?” she echoed, her eyes growing wide. “What do you think I am? A cow? Exactly how many stomachs do you think I have?”
He chuckled.
“Or more to the point – how many do you want me to have? Because if I eat any more, I’m likely to sprout another!”
Thoroughly enjoying her sense of humor, he laughed outright.
“Guess we’re done then,” he replied a little mournfully.
“Unless you want to have to run six miles,” she grinned.
He smiled. Then he glanced at his phone. His face fell. He looked up to meet her eyes. “I’m sorry, but I have a meeting in an hour.”
Daniela sighed. Well, it was good while it lasted…
“Thank you for taking me out to try the best cheesecake in Korea.”
He brightened. “Oh, this isn’t the best cheesecake in Korea.”
She quirked her dark eyebrows. “It isn’t?”
He shook his raven head.
“Where’s the best cheesecake in Korea?”
He grinned. “My eomma’s house.”
A puff of air escaped her nose as she snickered at his unexpected answer. “Ahhhh. I see. Well, you should have taken me there then,” she joked.
“Maybe I will someday,” he murmured as his eyes collided with her own.
Those dark eyebrows flew up once more. This time in surprise.
