Jungkook was lost. Lost in Hyejin’s lips. Why had he waited six months to kiss her? Would kissing her always feel this amazing? Fire was blazing a trail from her lips into his bones. Yet her lips were also leaving a gentle mark. And they were certainly releasing bliss into his soul. And into his body.
He could still hear his own breathy voice singing in his ear as he kissed her for the very first time. She tasted sweet. Indescribable. Yet delicious. Like strawberries? Her pleasant scent was invading his head too. Though, he couldn’t have named it. All he knew for sure was that he didn’t want to stop kissing her. So he didn’t.
His fingers caressed her cheek for a few moments before his hand slid down to encircle her waist and draw her closer to him. He deepened the kiss as he pulled her up against him. A moment later, as her weight shifted, he lost his balance and fell backward onto the ground. Carrying her with him. Their lips broke apart as she landed on his chest. Their eyes collided as they both suddenly opened them. The next moment, they were both laughing.
“I guess we don’t need 22’s help to end up in a pile on the ground, huh?” Jungkook chuckled. “I thought we’d be safe since we left him at your house.”
She smiled ruefully as she shook her head. “I guess not.”
Then as she gazed down at him, her expression relaxed as she sobered. Her eyes found his lips again, and she leaned down towards his mouth.
Was Hyejin going to kiss him now?
Jungkook suddenly grinned. But when her eyes met his in the next moment, his smile fled. And his stomach did a somersault. She was moving closer to him, leaning into his chest. Her mouth seeking his own.
Jungkook watched her coming for him. He saw her eyes close right before her nose pressed into his cheek, and her soft lips brushed his own tenderly. His arm around her tightened, drawing her even closer, as his eyes fluttered shut. He decided to enjoy their second kiss as much as their first. Regretfully, after a few moments of utter joy, she drew away from him. But he didn’t let her go. Gazing down into his eyes, she hovered over him for a little while.
Then, suddenly, her stomach growled. Embarrassed, she instantly sat up on her heels, his arm sliding away from her waist. She moved over slightly and sat down before picking up her plate. She glanced at him and smiled.
“Everything looks amazing, Kookie. I’m quite famished.”
“Apparently,” he muttered, grinning.
She peeked up at him. “Kookie…” she spoke in a warning tone.
He laughed. “What? I didn’t say anything. Mum’s the word.” He pretended to lock his lips and throw away the key.
She giggled. Right before she bit into a rice roll. She closed her eyes in delight. “Oh, Kookie! This is so good!! Did you make it?”
He nodded. “With a little help from Jin.”
“Jin? He helped you make breakfast?”
Jungkook nodded. “And Yoongi played the piano while I played the guitar and sang our song.”
She smiled. “Yoongi helped you produce our song?”
He nodded again.
“And Namjoon drove over here earlier and set up the picnic. Jimin made the tea. And Hobi ran to the store and bought the Choco Boys.”
“Wow. They must really love you!” She smiled before wrinkling her brow as another thought came to her. “Wait. Aren’t there six of them? Who did you forget?”
“Tae,” Jungkook answered without even thinking. “I didn’t forget him. He didn’t do anything to help.”
“Is that strange?”
“No, not really. Tae marches to the beat of a different drummer. But I’m sure he’ll finagle a way into this story somehow.” He grinned, remembering that Tae had taken a picture of him and Hyejin several weeks ago. Tae really was such a good friend!
She laughed. “Will he, now?” Then she glanced at the food spread out on the blanket. “Kookie, aren’t you going to eat?”
His gaze followed hers. He nodded. “Right now.”
He reached out and picked up a rice roll and crammed the entire thing into his mouth. He’d made her laugh again.
As he sat chewing, she beamed up at him. “It must be wonderful to have such an amazing group of friends.”
“It is. I wouldn’t have pulled this whole thing off today without a little help from my friends.”
