Jeongyeon quickly sat next to the boy playing with his animal crackers. She set her backpack on the floor at her feet. Before she could even look up, an animal cracker was shoved in her face.
“Hi there, what’s your name? I haven’t seen you before,” the animal cracker asked in a high-pitched voice.
Jeongyeon giggled and looked up at the boy who was giving the cracker its voice. He smiled softly at her.
“I’m Jeongyeon,” she replied to the animal cracker’s question.
The boy smiled at her and put the animal cracker in his mouth.
“I’m Tae.”
He looked down at the bag of animal crackers in his hand and brought another cracker to his mouth.
“I’m surprised you sat with me.”
“Why?” Jeongyeon asked.
He smiled faintly. “I drank a bottle of glue in 4th grade and someone made it their goal to make sure no one ever forgot.” He grinned suddenly. “I mean, at least the glue kinda tasted good. It was worth the three days I spent throwing up after drinking it…maybe.”
