Dalbit lay in bed as she shook. Silent tears were streaming down her cheeks her face. She’d had a panic attack again. She was shaking so bad it was making her feel weak. She needed to eat some chocolate. And drink some water. But she felt too weak to even get up.
Yoongi was going to be home soon. She needed to get up. He couldn’t see her like this. He was already stressed enough with work. He didn’t need to have to handle her having a panic attack.
She stared up at the wall as her muscles continued to twitch. There was no way she could get up right now. At least Yoongi wasn’t supposed to be home until 4 am. She had a few hours to calm down. She should probably just to sleep. It was nearing 1 am already.
She closed her eyes for a minute. But she opened them again a moment later when she heard the door creak open. Was someone breaking in? She pushed herself up on two shaky arms.
“Dal? You’re awake still?”
She sighed in relief. It was Yoongi. But then she panicked again. She didn’t want Yoongi to see her like this.
“Yes…I’m still awake.” She tried to keep the shakiness out of her voice.
“Are you all right?”
“Yes. I’m fine. Why?”
“Your voice sounds…shaky. Like you were crying.”
Yoongi pulled his shirt over his head and threw it on the floor. Then he made his way to the bed in the darkness of the room. He slid into the bed and pulled her down next to him. He stilled.
“You’re shaking.”
He leaned over to the nightstand and flicked the light on. Then he turned back towards her. He grasped her wrist gently and felt her pulse.
“Did you have a panic attack?”
Dalbit stared up at him. How had he known?
“Don’t give me that look. You know I have panic attacks often. I know the symptoms.”
Dalbit inhaled shakily.
“Did you eat anything?”
She shook her head. Yoongi crawled out of bed.
“Stay here. I’ll go get you a snack and some water.”
She sighed and sunk back into the bed as Yoongi headed to the kitchen. She knew not to argue with him. He was back a few moments later with a bottle of water and a piece of chocolate cake. He set them on the nightstand and helped her sit up. He handed her the bottle of water.
“Drink.”
She took the bottle from him gratefully, taking small sips of it until she’d drunk half of it. Then she handed it back to Yoongi. He took it and placed it back on the nightstand before picking up the plate with the cake on it. He stabbed a bite onto the fork.
“Open your mouth. I’m feeding you.”
Dalbit smiled gratefully. She opened her mouth and accepted the bite of cake as Yoongi fed it to her. He fed her the cake bite after bite until she had finished it. Then he set the plate back on the nightstand.
“You feel better now?”
She nodded. “Yes. Thank you.”
“Hey.”
She looked up at him.
“Next time you have a panic attack, please tell me, all right?”
She nodded slowly. “Ok…”
He smiled and pressed a kiss into her forehead. Then he crawled into bed with her and pulled her into his arms.
“Let’s sleep. You need it.”
Dalbit nodded. “Ok. Goodnight, Yoonie.”
“Goodnight, Dal.”
