Jin dropped the girls at Tae’s house with the parting words “Text me when you want me to come pick you up.  Just, no later than 11, ok?”

They promised Jin they’d text him by eleven before heading for the front door.  Jungkook answered it and ushered them inside.

“Tae said Jimin will be here soon.  His brother, Yoongi, is dropping him off.  Tae’s in the kitchen trying to get Miyeon to eat her dinner.”

Mina joined Tae in the kitchen.  Nina opted to head to the living room and start skimming her math book.  A few minutes into her struggling through the first problem, the doorbell rang.  She heard the door open and some mumbled words.  Then Jimin walked into the living room.  He squinted at her.

“Tae didn’t tell me you were coming.”

“He invited me and my sister during lunch.  I suppose he didn’t have time to tell you.”

“Your sister…?”

“No, Miyeon!  You’re gonna hang out with Jungkookie while we study!” Mina exclaimed as she suddenly appeared in the living room, chasing the tiny toddler.

Jimin did a double take as Mina scooped Miyeon up off the floor.  He looked at Nina, in her black sweatshirt and navy jeans, to Mina, in her lavender sweatshirt and gray sweatpants.  There was two of them?  How had he not realized?

“Wait-what?”

Nina giggled. “I suppose we should re-introduce ourselves.  Hi, I’m Nina.  This is my twin sister, Mina.  You may have met her in your math class.”

Mina offered Jimin a short wave as she tried to keep Miyeon in her arms.  Jimin just gaped at the two of them.

“You mean…Mina is dating Tae?” he asked after a few moments of silence.

“Four years and counting now, yes.” Mina smiled.

Jimin sighed. “But how am I supposed to tell you two apart?”

“Simple.  I have brown eyes.  Mina has green eyes.” Nina stated.

Jimin looked back and forth between the two of them, this time taking notice that they did in fact have different colored eyes.

“…oh.”

“Mina, please tell me you have Miyeon.” Tae said as he walked into the room.

“Yes, Tae, I have Miyeon.”

Tae sighed a sigh of relief. “Ok.  I’ll take her up to Jungkook and then we can get started.”

——————–

They all settled onto the couches around nine after Tae and Jungkook put Miyeon to bed.  Jungkook brought two large bowls of popcorn to the living room as Tae started the movie.

Tae, Mina, and Jungkook all piled onto one of the couches and Nina and Jimin settled onto the other.  Jungkook was the only one paying attention as the movie played.  Tae slung his arm over Mina’s shoulder and leaned down to whisper into her ear.

“What are those two doing?”

Mina glanced over at Jimin and Nina.  They were both sitting awkwardly on the couch as they fixed their eyes on the screen.  But anyone could tell both of them were comprehending absolutely nothing that was going on on that TV.

Mina stifled a laugh as she turned towards Tae, their lips almost brushing when she stopped. “I’m not sure,” she whispered back.

Nina was staring blankly at the TV.  She wasn’t even quite sure what they were watching as she felt Jimin’s hip brush up against hers.  How small was this couch?  She hadn’t remembered it being this cramped.

She reached down to grab some popcorn out of the bowl Jungkook had set on the table in front of her and Jimin.  What she didn’t expect was to grab onto another hand.  She looked down as her hand wrapped around Jimin’s.  Her eyes widened and she pulled her hand away quickly.

“Sorry…” she whispered, not meeting his eye.  She’d thought telling Jimin that she wasn’t dating Tae would’ve made things easier.  But it hadn’t.  It had gone back to being awkward.  And she could’ve sworn she could see her sister giggling out of the corner of her eye.  She was pretty sure they hadn’t chosen a comedy movie.

Suddenly a bowl of popcorn was set in her lap. “Here, eat some.” It was a gentle whisper.

She glanced up at Jimin.  Well, maybe they were making progress after all.
