Nina and Jimin had agreed to only do the slow rides now. Their stomachs couldn’t handle one more loop. They were sitting on the Ferris wheel now. Nina was snapping pictures to send to Mina. She was missing this photography session to take care of her sick boyfriend.
“Nina?”
Nina turned to look up at Jimin. “Yes?”
“Do you have anyone you like?”
“What do you mean?”
“Like…anyone you want to date?”
Nina just stared up at him. She could feel her cheeks starting to heat up. Should she just tell him?
“Um…yes.”
Jimin smiled. “Oh really? Who? If you don’t mind telling me.”
Oh no. He seemed too excited that she liked someone. Maybe he didn’t like her.
“Ummmm…” she smiled mysteriously. “I’m not telling you until you tell me who you like.”
“Yah! That’s not fair!”
“Yes, it is! Why am I to trust you with this information?”
Jimin pursed his lips. “Fine. I’ll tell you. But you have to promise you won’t make fun of me.”
Nina paled. Did he really not like her? But she nodded anyways. “I promise.”
“Pinky promise?” he asked, lifting his pinky up.
She laughed and linked her pinky with his. “Pinky promise.”
“All right.”
“So? Who is it?” Nina was jittery now.
Jimin leaned towards her, a smile playing on his lips. He bent to whisper into her ear.
“I like you, Nina.”
Nina’s heart nearly jumped out of her chest. “Wha-what?” she turned towards him, blushing as their lips nearly brushed. “You like me? Why?”
Jimin pulled back. “Why? What kind of question is that? You’re sweet, you’re cute, you’re smart. You’re just perfect. Why wouldn’t someone like you?”
Nina wanted to cry. She hadn’t imagined today going like this. Her eyes welled with tears and a sudden bravery came over her. She leaned forward and kissed him.
Jimin’s eyes widened in shock. But then they fluttered shut as he fell into that kiss.

“Mina, if Jin asks, I won’t be home for dinner. Jimin and I are going out. And I might take you up on the offer of a double date next weekend. Oh! I took a few pictures from the top of the Ferris wheel for you. Here.”
When Mina rolled over to the nightstand an hour later, she had three texts from Nina awaiting her. She should probably tell Jin he was eating alone tonight. What had happened?

“Which kind of ice cream do you want?” Jimin asked, scanning the bins.
“Coffee! It’s my favorite!”
Jimin nodded. Then he turned to the worker and ordered one coffee ice cream cone and one pear one. Once they had their ice cream and he’d paid, they sat down at one of the tables.
“So,” Nina began, taking a bite of her ice cream. “We’re dating now, yes?”
Jimin nodded. “Isn’t that what two people who like each other usually do?”
Nina laughed. “I suppose. Mina wants to do a double date next weekend.”
“Ah. I see. That sounds fun.”
“Yeah maybe. Except they may want a redo for the amusement park since they couldn’t make it today.”
Jimin laughed. “We’ll have to ditch them for the slow rides, I’m assuming?”
Nina nodded. “Oh yeah. They love the big, crazy rides. Anything that gives you an adrenaline rush, they’re on it.”
“I can see why they’re dating.”
Nina nodded again. “They’re quite the pair.”
“Do you want to go to the lake this evening? I’ve heard it’s nice at night.”
“Ooo! I’d love to!”
