Reactions: Finding Out Their Wife is Pregnant

Seok-Jin

Soyeon paced back and forth in the bathroom, staring at the positive pregnancy test in her hand.  She and Jin had only been married a month; she wasn’t sure if they were ready for kids yet.

“Yeon-ah, I’m home!”

Soyeon jumped at the sound of Jin’s voice, quickly hiding the pregnancy test in the bathroom drawer before heading out to greet him.  Jin pulled her into a tight hug.

“Ah, I missed you!” Jin exclaimed.

“You were gone for two days!” Soyeon scoffed. “That’s not enough time to miss me, is it?”

“What do you mean?  I always miss my beautiful wife when I’m apart from her for more than a few minutes!”

“Aw, really?”

“Of course!” He pulled away slightly and kissed her forehead, making her grin. “What?” He asked, noticing her grin.

“Oh nothing.”

“C’mon, tell me,” he pouted.

“I might have a surprise for you.”

“Really?” Jin asked excitedly.

Soyeon nodded. “Stay here, I’ll be right back.”

She ran to the bathroom, got the pregnancy test, and ran to her room to find a small box to put it in.  She quickly put it in the box and ran back out to the living room where Jin was.

“Open it.”

Jin cautiously opened the box, his eyes widening when he saw what was inside.  He pulled out the pregnancy test and stared at it for a few seconds.

“You’re pregnant?”

Soyeon nodded, a grin on her face.  Jin jumped up and hugged her.

“I’m gonna be a dad!” He picked her up and spun around with her.

“Ok, ok!” Soyeon exclaimed.  Jin took the hint, setting her down.

“You’ll finally have someone to tell your dad jokes to.”

Jin smiled. “I suppose I will.”

“You wanna tell the boys?”

“That can wait.  Right now I want to spend time with my princess.” He wrapped his arms around her waist, pulling her closer to him.

She smiled and wrapped her arms around his neck. “Sounds good to me.”

——————–

“Yah! Soyeon’s pregnant?” Jungkook exclaimed, jumping in his seat.

Jin grinned. “I’m so excited!”

“Great!  This means we won’t have to hear any more dad jokes, right?” Yoongi asked, not looking up from his phone.

All six of the other boys looked at him.

“That’s true.  I didn’t think ab-” Namjoon was cut off by Tae.

“Ah, who cares?  What I want to know is who’s gonna be the godfather?”

Everyone’s attention was back on Jin again.

“Hmm, I’ll have to discuss it with Yeon, but I think it will be…”

Yoongi

Eunseo spun around in Yoongi’s swivel chair in his studio.  She soon felt nauseous and stopped herself.  Just as she got the chair to stop spinning, Yoongi popped his head in the door.

“I didn’t think you’d come to the studio today.”

She frowned, “It’s our one-year anniversary!  Of course I had to come!”

“Ah.  I can’t believe we’ve been married for a year.”  Yoongi walked inside and closed the door behind him, leaning against it. “What should we do today?”

“Why don’t we go to the amusement park?”

“The amusement park?  Hmm…  All right, grab your bag, and we’ll head out.”

Eunseo smiled and jumped up, causing herself to feel a bit nauseous again.  She groaned and rubbed her stomach softly.

“You all right?” Yoongi asked, a bit concerned.

“I’m ok.”

Truth was that she had felt nauseous on and off a lot the past few weeks but had passed it off as nothing.  It now occurred to her that she might be pregnant, but she’d save that thought for later, as Yoongi wouldn’t let her go to the amusement park if he knew she was pregnant.

She smiled at Yoongi. “Let’s go.”

He nodded, still a bit worried.

——————–

“Eun!  C’mon!”

Eunseo trotted slowly behind Yoongi, feeling quite nauseous after they walked past the corndog stand, the smell having completely overwhelmed her senses.

“Don’t worry, I’m coming.”

Yoongi sighed and walked back to her. “What’s wrong?”

“I feel a bit nauseous…I think the last ride was a bit too whirly.”

“Oh.  Do you want to take a break?”

“Maybe…” She swayed a bit, Yoongi catching her before she fell.

“Whoa!  Eun, do we need to go home?  Do you feel sick?”

“Umm, a little…”

“Let’s go home.”

“Ok…  We need to stop at the store first, though. I need to get something.”

Yoongi nodded. “All right, let’s go.”

He picked her up and carried her to the car, hoping he wasn’t dizzying her.  When he helped her into the car, she doubled over in pain.

“Yoongi…help me out of the car…I think I’m going to puke…”

His eyes went wide. “Oh, no!”

He quickly helped her out of the car, and she ran to the nearest trash can.  She groaned as she puked into it.  Yoongi ran over to her.

“Eun, are you ok?”

“I’m ok…”

“Are you sure you want to go to the store?  I think we should just head home.”

“No, no, I have to get something.”

Yoongi sighed.  “All right, fine.”

After leaving, they soon arrived at the store and headed inside.

“So, what is it you need to get?” Yoongi asked.

Eunseo hesitated before telling him.  “A pregnancy test.”

“What?  If you think you’re pregnant, why did you go on all those rides?  No wonder you were puking!” Yoongi shook his head.  Then he realized what she had said.  “Wait, you’re pregnant?”

“I’m not sure yet.  Don’t get your hopes up.”

Yoongi didn’t say much after that, and he was silent the entire car ride home.  Eunseo assumed he must be mad; it wasn’t often he was this silent to her, despite what one would think.

Once they got home, Eunseo ran straight to the bathroom to take the pregnancy test.  She was more shocked than expected when the test read positive.

“Yoongi!”

He came running, bursting through the bathroom door.

“What?  Is it positive?”

She nodded, showing it to him.

Yoongi froze, looking like he might pass out.

“We’re gonna have a kid.  We’re gonna be parents.  We’re gonna be parents, Eun!  I have to tell the boys!” He ran out of the room, returning a second later to kiss her. “I’ll be back soon,” he quickly ran for the front door, excitement overwhelming him.

Eunseo smiled.  It made her happy to see Yoongi so happy.  Her phone rang a minute later, and she picked it up.

“Eun, do you want to call Jin before I tell everyone?  I thought you might want to since he’s your brother.”

“Oh!  Yes, I’ll call him.  I’ll make sure to ask him not to tell the boys.”

“All right, love you.”

“Love you too.”

Eunseo hung up and quickly dialed her brother’s phone number.

“Hi, Eun!  How’s my baby sister?”

Eunseo rolled her eyes at his nickname for her. “I’m fine.  Actually, I have some news.”

“What?  Are you moving or something?” Jin paused for a second but not long enough for Eunseo to answer his question. “Wait!  No!  Are you pregnant?”

“Are you spying on me?  How did you know?”

“I just know things, Eun.  It’s an older brother thing.”

Eunseo sighed. “All right, sure.  Just don’t tell any of the boys because Yoongi is on his way to share the news.”

“Sure, sure.  You still have to name the baby after me.”

Eunseo laughed, “We’re not naming the baby after you.”

Well, as it turned out, that wasn’t entirely true.  Eight months later, they had a baby boy and named him Min Haejin, after his uncle.

Hoseok

Gayun sat on the couch, waiting for her husband, Hoseok, to arrive home. It had been ten weeks since she had seen him, and she was contemplating how to tell him she was pregnant.  She was about three months along now and slightly showing.  She buried herself in the sweatshirt she had stolen from his closet, hoping he wouldn’t notice she was showing before she had a chance to tell him.

“I’m home, Jagi!” Hobi yelled, slamming the door open.

“Hobi-ah!” Gayun ran to him and tackle-hugged him, making him drop his bag.

He hugged her back. “Ah, I missed you,” he pulled away slightly and kissed her softly.

She smiled and kissed him back before pulling away. “How was the tour?”

“Well, Jimin twisted his ankle, and Tae lost his voice, so a bit bumpy, but it was fun!  You know I always love seeing how happy I make ARMY.”

Gayun smiled. “Yes, I know.  You love knowing you make people happy.”

Hobi made a cute face and poked Gayun’s sides. “You really like my hoodies, don’t you?”

Gayun grinned. “Of course!  They smell like you!”

“Oh, you like my smell, do you?”

“Mhm.”

Hobi giggled. “All right, where are we going for dinner?”

“I don’t know.  Surprise me.”

——————–

Hobi had decided he wanted McDonalds, which definitely wasn’t Gayun’s first choice, but she supposed it was easier to hide her pregnancy there than it would be at a fancy restaurant since she could continue wearing his hoodie.

After they ordered their food, they settled at a booth.

“Hobi-ah.”

“Hmm?”

“I have a secret to tell you.”

“Oh?  What is it?”

Gayun motioned for him to scoot closer to her, so he did.

She leaned in close to his ear and whispered softly. “Hobi-ah, you’re gonna be a dad.”

Hobi’s eyes lit up, and he looked over at her with a huge grin on his face. “You’re pregnant?”

She nodded. “I found out right after you left, but I wanted to wait to tell you in person.”

Hobi pulled her into a tight hug. “Yun-ah, I’m so happy!  We’re having a baby!”

Gayun grinned and hugged him back. “So, do you want it to be a boy or a girl?”

“Ah, I don’t care!”

“Aw.  Well, we find out next month.  Do you want to call the boys and tell them?”

“Yes, let’s call them!  They’re all gonna be so happy!”

Hobi pulled out his phone and opened the group chat he had with the boys before hitting group call.

“Wow, Hobi, miss us already?” Namjoon asked.

“No, we have news.”

“We?”

“Yun’s pregnant.”

The group call then turned into chaos…

Namjoon

Yejin sat on the bed she shared with her husband, Namjoon, stressfully cramming popcorn into her mouth.  Why, you ask?  Well, her period was now a week late, and it was beginning to occur to her that she might be pregnant.  She knew Namjoon could handle it, he’d wanted a kid for years, but could she?  She didn’t feel like she was ready for the responsibility of raising a child.

Namjoon walked out of the bathroom, freshly clean from his shower, and his hair, still slightly damp, looking silky soft.  He raised an eyebrow upon noticing Yejin stress eating.

“Are you all right, love?”

“Hmm?” Yejin looked up at him, stalling her popcorn consumption for a second. “No, I’m not ok,” she shoved another handful of popcorn in her mouth.

“All right, what’s wrong?”

“I think I might be pregnant,” she mumbled.

“Really?” Namjoon asked excitedly.

“Mhm and I don’t think I’m ready for kids,” she replied, slurring her words together.

“Aw, babe,” Namjoon sat on the bed next to Yejin. “Why don’t you think you’re ready?”

Yejin sighed. “I don’t know…I just don’t think I am…”

“Yejin,” Namjoon pushed her hair back behind her ear. “You’ll be a wonderful mom.  And don’t stress, we don’t even know if you’re pregnant yet, right?”

Yejin nodded hesitantly. “Let’s go to the store.”

——————–

“Namjoon…” Yejin walked out of the bathroom, holding the pregnancy test.

“Is it positive?”

“Mhm…” Yejin took a deep breath. “I don’t know if I’m ready for this, Joonie…”

“C’mere,” Namjoon patted the bed beside him.

Yejin joined him on the bed, placing the test on the night stand.  She scooted close to Namjoon, avoiding eye contact with him.

“Look at me, Jagiya.”

Yejin slowly looked up at him, his dark eyes and gentle smile instantly calming her.

“Stay calm, Yejin.  If you think you’re not ready, remember I’ll be right here beside you.  Don’t worry.  You’ll do great.”

A soft smile appeared on her face. “Thank you, Namjoon.  You always know how to calm me down.”

He smiled and pulled her into a hug. “And just think, we have nine months to prepare.  You’ll be ready.”

Yejin leaned her head on his chest and hugged him back. “That’s true. Can we wait to tell the boys, though?  Just keep this between us right now?”

“Yes of course, love.  Just remember we have to tell them eventually.”

She nodded.  She was nervous, but Namjoon’s confidence in her reassured her.  They were a perfect balance.

Jimin

“Mrs. Park, you’re pregnant.”

Seongja stared blankly into space.  She felt a mix of emotions wash over her from the diagnosis that she had least expected.  She combed her fingers through her dark hair.  What would she name the baby?  How would Jimin react?  How hard would it be?  She sighed.

On her way home she considered many other things, such as which friend she would make her child’s godmother.  When she got home, she found Jimin practicing his dance routine in the living room.

“Seong!  You’re home!” Jimin stopped dancing and ran over to her to hug her, picking her up and spinning her around.

“Ah!” Seongja giggled. “Jiminie!  Put me down!”

Jimin pouted. “No!  My Seong!”

“Put me down, you goof!” She smacked his chest.

“Fine,” he put her down and brushed her bangs out of her face so he could kiss her forehead. “What did the doctor say?  There’s nothing wrong with you, right?”

“No, Jimin, I’m perfectly fine.  Actually,” she paused. “I’m pregnant.”

“You’re pregnant?” A huge grin spread across Jimin’s face. “We have to throw a party!  Let’s go tell the boys!  Ahhhh!” Jimin grabbed her hand and dragged her out the door, over whelmed with joy.

They soon arrived at the studio, all the boys awaiting them after Jimin’s text about a surprise.  Jimin was too impatient for Seongja’s short legs, so he picked her up and ran inside.

“Chimin!  What’s the surprise?  I wanna know!” Tae exclaimed the moment he saw Jimin and Seongja.

Jimin set Seongja down and looked at her. “You wanna tell them?”

Seongja grinned and nodded, before turning to the boys. “I’m pregnant!”

“Oh my goodness!”

“Someone get the champagne!”

“Seong can’t drink champagne!”

“Get some sparkling juice then!”

“Can I be the godfather?”

“I call being the babysitter!”

“Jungkook, boys don’t babysit!”

“Says who?”

“I’ll teach the baby English!”

“Shut up, Namjoon!  The baby doesn’t need to learn English!”

“Yes it does!”

“I’ll take those English lessons if the baby doesn’t!”

“No I will!”

“Everyone shut up!”

Everyone looked over at Jin, who had silenced the chaos.

“First of all, we have to throw a party.  And if we’re gonna do that we have to start planning it.”

The room erupted into collective groans.

Taehyung

Jihye rolled over in bed, being greeted by the smiling, sleeping face of her husband, Tae.  She loved his smile.  It was so pretty.  And after very recently finding out she was carrying his child, she hoped that child would have that same smile.  She wondered how to tell him.  She thought about maybe making something big of it, but she also considered making it private and romantic.

“Good morning, Jagi.”

Her husband’s deep voice broke through her thoughts, and she once again stared at his smiling face.

“Good morning, Tae-Tae,” she grinned.

He ran his hand across her cheek before kissing her forehead softly. “I’m thinking about staying home with you today; what do you think?”

“I’d love that.”

A clap of thunder broke through their romantic moment, and Taehyung rose from the bed to look out the window.  He pulled up the shades.

“Hmm it’s raining.”

“It is?” Jihye climbed out of bed and joined him at the window.

“Mhm, it’s raining hard.”

“Hmm,” Jihye decided to change the subject.  She turned to him. “What do you want for breakfast?”

“Can we make hotteok?”

“Again?”

“Please?  It’s my favorite!”

“Ah, fine.”

They headed to the kitchen and started making the hotteok.  Everything was going well, until Jihye got distracted and accidently burnt a piece.  However, neither she nor Taehyung noticed until it started smoking.  The fire alarm went off, and Taehyung instantly turned off the burner, coughing from the smoke.

“Jihye, are you ok?”

“Yeah I’m-” She coughed a few times. “I’m ok.”

“How did we get so distracted?  If that had gone on long, it wouldn’t have been good for the baby!” He immediately smacked his hand over his mouth, realizing what slipped out.

“What?  You knew!?”

Tae hesitated before speaking. “I found the pregnancy test in the bathroom…I’m sorry…I know you wanted to surprise me…”

“Ah…It’s ok.  I wish you had told me you knew!  It was so hard keeping it a secret!”

“Oh trust me, I almost slipped it to the guys a few times.”

Jihye snorted. “Really?”

“Yes.  I actually did say it to Jimin…but thankfully he wasn’t paying attention.”

“Tae!”

“What?  It wasn’t on purpose!”

Just then the fire alarm went off and the air filled with smoke once again.

“Oh no!”

Jungkook

Areum kept her eyes clamped shut as she held the pregnancy test in her hand.  If this one was negative, it would be the fifth one this month. She and her husband, Jungkook, had been trying for months.  At this point Areum was scared maybe she wouldn’t be able to have children.  She finally willed herself to open her eyes.  Positive?  Positive!  She squealed.

“Oh my goodness!  Finally!  I’m pregnant!  I have to tell Jungkook!  Where’s my phone?”

She found her phone and quickly dialed Jungkook’s number.

“Jungkook!  Jungkook!  We did it!”

“Hmm?”

“I’m finally pregnant!”

“What?  Really?  You’re not joking with me, are you?”

“No, no!  I’m serious!”

She heard a sharp squeal from the other side of the line.

“Jimin, quit listening in on my conversations!” She heard Jungkook exclaim. “You better not tell anyone!”

“Too late!  I already told all the boys!”

“You what?!?  Jimin I swear- Areum, I’m sorry, I have to go beat Jimin. I’ll be home in an hour with take-out.  Love you.  Bye.”

She heard a thud and another sharp squeal, followed by footsteps and a door slamming.  She sighed and shook her head before hanging up. The second she hung up, her phone was flooded with texts; between one and twenty from each of the boys congratulating her and Jungkook, and two hundred from Jimin begging for her help.  She laughed and threw her phone down.  There was no way she was helping him.  Her phone dinged again, and she picked it up, despite expecting it to be Jimin.  Instead it was her brother, Tae.

“Are you seriously not going to respond?  I find out my sister, who supposedly couldn’t have children, is pregnant, and that’s it?  No dramatic story?  *Sigh*  There’s no way you’re my sister if I don’t get some story about how you’ve always wanted children and now are gonna finally have one.  I NEED IT!”

She snorted at Tae’s text.  Her brother was so silly.  She started to compose a story to appease him, and worked on it for about a half an hour.  Just as she was about to finish it, Jungkook burst through the door.

“I got take-out!”

“Yay!  I’m starving!”

“Oh and I also bought a baby names book.  Jimin said it makes it easier to find a good name; he speaks from experience.”

Areum face palmed.

“JIMIN!”
