That night, their hotel was very loud as Jordan talked their ears off about the concert. They were all too pumped with adrenaline to go to sleep just yet. Even though it was nearing four in the morning back home.
Jinie had disappeared about half an hour after they’d gotten back to the hotel. The shower had been running at some point, and the bathroom fan was on now.
Nani slipped off while Jordan was still going on and on. She made her way to the bathroom and was about to knock on the door when she heard Jinie talking in a soft voice. It was nearly drowned out by the bathroom fan, and Nani’s Korean wasn’t perfect, but she caught a few sentences.
“I just don’t know what to do. Do you think I should tell Jordan and Jae? I mean…I trust Nani, but I’m scared, Tae.”
There was a bit of mumbling from the other side of the line before Jinie responded again.
“Are you sure? That’s ok with your manager?” another pause. “Ok…see you then. Love you.”
A minute later, the fan was turned off, and the door swung open to reveal Jinie. Her hair was still soaked, and she was dressed in a simple cropped sweatshirt and a pair of shorts.
“Did you…hear all of that?”
Nani shrugged. “A bit of what you said. Couldn’t really pick up anything from the other end.”
Jinie nodded. “How would you feel about going out tomorrow night?”
Nani cocked her head to the side. “What for?”
Jinie gave her a pointed look.
“All right, all right. I won’t ask. Is there a certain way I should dress?”
“Just…dress like you,” Jinie suggested as she brushed past Nani to head for the kitchenette in their room.

The next day was a wild one. They spent it at Disney Land. They hadn’t really thought it through that they’d be exhausted from the concert. They didn’t arrive at the park until nearly noon. For some reason, no one had bothered to set an alarm, so Jordan woke up at ten thirty and was rushing around trying to get everyone up. They finally made it out of the hotel at eleven, but the drive to the park was nearly forty-five minutes.
Now they were sitting at a small round table eating lunch. Jae had insisted they go to the shops as soon as they were finished eating, so both he and Jordan were practically cramming food down their throats. Nani was in another world as she wondered what on earth Jinie was taking her to do tonight.
Jinie was staring at the center piece on the table as her phone suddenly chimed. She picked it up and looked at it. she appeared slightly miffed as she typed into her phone. Seconds later, Jordan was bouncing up and down asking if they were ready to go yet, and Jae was done with his food as well, so Nani suggested they head off and that she and Jinie would join them in a bit.
Once they’d gone, Nani turned to Jinie. “What’s wrong?”
“What?” Jinie looked up abruptly. “Nothing’s wrong.”
Nani gave her a questioning look.
“It’s just a slight hiccup in our plans for tonight. I told you, it’s nothing.”
Nani’s expression turned to a look of doubt, but she supposed there wasn’t anything she could do even if something had gone wrong.

That night, at nine thirty, Jinie dragged Nani out of the hotel room. Jinie seemed a bit happier than she had the past day and a half, and definitely more confident. The entire car ride was spent in silence but for 4 O’clock playing softly through Jinie’s phone.
When they arrived at their destination, Nani was almost convinced that Jinie had gone insane.
“This…is the secret destination?”
“Yup.”
