24 Hours – Chapter 13: Betrayed

The line had suddenly surged forward.  Distracted by the movement around her, Woong had taken a step back, breaking the contact between her forehead and Tae’s.  But their hands were still linked.  The spell breaking, Tae blinked and then stepped forward to follow the girls ahead of them.  He was pulling Woong along behind him again.

His avid fan turned towards him, holding a little square of paper out to him.  She leaned towards his ear, her lips nearly touching him before she whispered something to him as she pressed the paper into his free hand.

Ooooh!  Why was her blood suddenly boiling?  The nerve of that girl!  Couldn’t she see that Tae was holding her hand?  Of course, she must be aware that he was!  And yet, she’d had the temerity to give him her phone number while he held Woong’s hand.  Then, to add insult to injury, she’d nearly kissed him on the ear!  And he had just stood there, listening to her as he received that horrible, little piece of paper.  He’d let her breathe on him!

Suddenly sick to her stomach, Woong ripped her hand out of Tae’s grasp as she stepped away from him.  A wave of such jealousy crashed through her that she felt bowled over!  Is this what it was like to date a superstar?  His girlfriend had to watch hordes of girls throwing themselves at him?  She narrowed her eyes suspiciously at the girl’s back as she wondered how many of these girls Tae had had.

She felt herself growing angry.  She was not up for this.  Not tonight.  She didn’t need a boyfriend.  She didn’t need to be in love.  She needed to focus on her work.  And this guy was extremely dangerous.  He probably took every opportunity he could to be with every girl that threw herself at him.  She’d heard about pretty boys like this.  Superstars who had a different girl in every city they toured.  She would not be one of them!

Tae watched, bewildered, as Woong tore her hand from his grasp.  At the same time, his ARMY was whispering in his ear.

“I took a picture of you two and posted it on this page – just for you.  It’s a private page.  I won’t release it to anyone else.  You two are really sweet together.”  Then she’d smiled at him before turning back to her friend.

But all Tae could concentrate on was Woong’s hurt face.  Then he watched in some consternation as that look turned to one of anger.
