Jin rolled out of bed at seven am. The boys were already awake. He sighed. Why, oh why, had he decided to take a vacation? This was most definitely not a vacation. Tae, Jimin, and Kookie were all already bouncing off the walls. Jin blamed the time change. No one was here to help him because he’d complied to Joon and Hobi’s request to room with their grandfather. Jin was sure they were already out by the pool by now.
Jin entered the living room. The three boys were having a pillow fight. With the hotel pillows.
“Hey, what are you three doing?”
Three pairs of innocent eyes looked up at him.
“We’re having a pillow fight,” Tae replied.
“Yeah, no. Let’s not have a pillow fight with the hotel pillows.”
Jin quickly collected the pillows and returned them to the couch. He sighed as he looked at the sofa bed. He really did not want to take the time to put that back in the couch. So, he wasn’t going to.
“We need to get ready to go. We have a bit of a drive to Disney Land.”
That got them moving. All three of them instantly sprinted to Jin’s room to find the suitcase. Jin smiled in satisfaction. Maybe today wouldn’t be so bad after all.
——————–
What had possessed him to bring the boys to Disney Land? Over fall break? Even with two teenagers and three adults, this was ridiculous. Jimin was throwing a fit because he wanted the Stitch plushie. No way was Jin buying him that. It was way too expensive for a stuffed animal.
Tae was whining because his legs hurt. Jin handed off some stuff to Hobi so he could pick Tae up, but then Tae was whining that he was tired. Kookie wanted to go on one of the big roller coasters. Which definitely wasn’t happening anytime in the next three years.
Yoongi was beyond ready to go back to the hotel, but Hobi and Joon wanted to ride a few more rides before they left, and Chaeha wanted to go with them.
Jin was getting a headache by now. It was only two. And they were going out at six tonight to celebrate Kookie’s birthday, so they all needed at least an hour-long nap before that. And now they had to wait for the older twins and Chaeha to finish riding rollercoasters. They’d had to rent only one car to cut costs, so no one could leave yet.
Yoongi and Jin settled down with the three kids at a booth. Jin decided ice cream was what they needed to keep Jimin, Tae, and Kookie from having meltdowns. So, he went and bought some. Ten minutes later, the ice cream was gone though, and now they had to find something else to do. Jin probably should’ve said no to the rollercoasters. Then something occurred to him. Could they take an uber back to the hotel? Jin texted Chaeha.
“I think the boys need a nap. Do you think you three could catch an uber back to the hotel?”
“Sure! We’ll head out in an hour or so.”
Jin sighed in relief. “Ok. See you then. Love you.”
“Love you too.”
——————–
Half an hour of riding in a car and listening to little kids whine later, Jin, Yoongi, Jimin, Tae, and Kookie arrived at the hotel. The adults wasted no time in getting the kids out of the car and up to their room.
Yoongi headed to his room as soon as Jin had wrangled all the kids into the room. Everyone needed a nap. Jin got all three boys ready for their nap and put them in bed. As in, the actual bed. They were all beyond tired. And Jin wanted to be able to eat his muffins in peace.
So Jin spent the next hour skimming channels on the TV while eating two of the chocolate muffins they had left over from the ones they’d bought at the car rental place. He’d been waiting to eat them until he wasn’t surrounded by food-stealing little boys.
The boys ended up sleeping for over an hour and a half, and Jin decided he should wake them up now. They were headed to In-N-Out for dinner in twenty minutes, so he needed to get them ready. Kookie was already wide awake and sitting up in bed when Jin entered.
“Time to go eat?” Kookie asked excitedly.
“Soon. We need to go get you guys ready first.”
Kookie clapped happily and crawled out of bed. Jin quickly woke up the twins and started getting everyone ready to go. They were out of the hotel within the next fifteen minutes and piling everyone into the car.
——————–
Jin could tell all the little boys were exhausted. Well, the little twins at least. Kookie was happily munching his way through his burger. Tae was taking occasional sips of his water, and Jimin was eating one fry every minute or so. Jin had thought bringing them out to eat would give them more energy, but apparently, he’d been wrong.
Then again, it was nearly their bedtime back home. And today had been a long day.
“Hey, you ok, Minnie?” Yoongi asked, patting Jimin’s head. Jimin nodded.
“Do you wanna go back to the hotel?”
Another nod.
“Kookie, you almost done eating?” Yoongi asked.
Kookie looked up at him with wide eyes as he crammed more fries into his mouth. “No.”
“Hey, don’t eat so much at once,” Chaeha instructed Kookie. “I don’t want you to choke.”
Kookie huffed, his cheeks still filled with fries. “But is good,” he mumbled.
Hobi, meanwhile, pulled Tae onto his lap and handed him a fry. “Eat this.”
The five-year-old stared at it blankly for a few moments. “Don’t want it.”
“You want a bite of your burger?”
Tae shook his head. Hobi sighed and put the fry in his own mouth.
“Would you like me to get you a shake?” Jin asked Tae.
“No. ‘m not hungry.” Tae muttered before burying his face in Hobi’s chest.
“Are you feeling ok, Tae?” Hobi asked.
“‘m tiirreeddd…” Tae whined.
“Ok is time to go,” Kookie announced, climbing off his chair.
“You’re done?” Chaeha asked, noticing the fries that were still in front of Kookie’s chair.
“Mhm. I’m full. Let’s go.”
The adults chuckled.
“Hang on a minute, Kookie. We need to pack everyone’s food up,” Jin told him.
——————–
Half an hour later, the twins were tucked into bed. Kookie, on the other hand, was still a ball of energy. He was bouncing on the bed when Jin exited the bathroom.
“What are you doing, silly? I thought I put you in bed.”
“I’m not tired. It’s bouncy time.”
Jin laughed and picked Kookie up before putting him on the floor. “Nope. This isn’t our bed, so let’s not bounce on it.”
“Ok. I want a snack.”
“You just ate dinner, though. You shouldn’t be hungry.”
Kookie pouted. “But I’m hungryyyy.”
“You need to go to bed. We’re gonna go to the beach tomorrow, remember? You need to sleep so we can get up and go in the morning.”
That got Kookie up. “Ok! I go to sleep.”
He ran back to the other room where his brothers were both asleep. Jin laughed. Hopefully he wouldn’t wake Tae and Jimin up.
Jin said I love you!
