Jisu blinked her eyes open and looked up at Tae. He was still sound asleep. She slowly pushed herself up, moving the least amount possible so as to not wake him. Then she sat there, staring down at his lovely face for a minute. She smiled. Then something occurred to her. She reached out and placed her hand on his forehead gently. He was even warmer than earlier. In fact, he was burning up. His eyebrows knit together, and he opened his eyes tiredly. Probably from the added heat on his face.
“Tae, you’re burning up!”
“Hmm…” Tae pulled Jisu back down on top of him. “I’m cold…”
“Tae, I should go get a cloth for your forehead to bring your fever down. Or at least some medicine.”
“But you should be resting too…”
“I feel much better now. I can take care of you.”
“But…”
“No buts. Let me go to the kitchen.” She pushed herself up again, realizing his grip on her was very loose.
“Jagi…I’m ok…You don’t need to get me anything…” Tae spoke very weakly. Then his eyes fluttered shut again.
“Yes. You need some medicine.”
“No…”
Jisu sighed and climbed out of bed. She pulled the covers over Tae, tucking them under his chin. She kissed his forehead gently. “I’ll be right back. Don’t get out of bed.”
Tae had the good sense not to argue this time. He simply nodded, knowing he wouldn’t win if he tried to fight.
Jisu headed out to the kitchen. She laughed at the absurdity of the situation. Just a few hours before, their roles had been the opposite. She was the one in bed, and he was the one going to get her medicine. Well, except she still felt slightly sick. Now she was going to get him a glass of water, so he could swallow his own pills with ease. She quickly filled a glass with water before heading back to their room. Tae was sound asleep again, snoring softly. She felt bad that she had to wake him up, especially since he looked so peaceful, but he needed to take the medicine.
“Tae…” She shook him gently. “Wake up.”
“Hmm…” Tae rolled over in his sleep.
“Ah, Tae…” She coughed slightly and rubbed her forehead. She sighed and reached for Tae’s arm, rolling him back over. The sudden movement jostled him awake.
“Hmm…Jisu…?”
“Tae, you need to take your medicine.”
Tae groaned softly. It turned into a cough, however.
“See? Now, take the medicine.”
Tae sighed and sat up, reluctantly taking the pills from her and quickly swallowing them. Then he looked at her with tired eyes. “Can you come back to bed now?”
A sudden wave of fatigue washed over Jisu, and she nodded before climbing into bed next to him. She laid her head on his chest and snuggled into him.
“Ah, Taehyungie…it sucks being sick together…”
“It means double the reason to cuddle, though, right?”
“And double the fever, double the cold, double the cough-”
“Ok, ok, I get it. It sucks…” Tae let his eyes flutter shut again. He was so tired. “At least I get to snuggle you…”
Jisu looked up at him and smiled. He was so cute when he was tired. Not that he wasn’t always cute, he was just especially cute when he was tired.
“You’re so cute. I love you.”
He smiled sweetly, his eyes still shut. “I love you too…”
Jisu sat up slightly, kissing him on the tip of his nose. “Now sleep, my precious prince. You need it to get better.”
He opened his eyes slightly before pulling her back down onto his chest. “Ok. But only if you stay. Right here. With me.”
“All right. Don’t worry. I’ll stay right here. Now sleep.”
“Hmm…ok…I love you…”
“I love you too.”
