Jungkook walked into the airport. He was not looking forward to this flight. His boss was sending him to America for work, but Jungkook had to be there over Christmas. Usually, he spent it with his family, but this year he wouldn’t be able to do that. He sighed as he sat down at the terminal to wait for his flight. He’d be spending the holidays alone this year. He wasn’t looking forward to it. Why had his boss had to choose him to go overseas at this time of year?
He pulled out his laptop and began to work on something. Might as well get something done while he was waiting here. A little while later, someone sat down next to him. It was understandable. The airport was packed. Jungkook felt someone pat him on the shoulder.
“Excuse me.”
He looked up, slightly annoyed that someone was disturbing his work.
“Do you need to charge your computer? My phone is nearly dead, and I need to charge it.”
Jungkook simply huffed and pulled his cord out of the wall before continuing his work. It wasn’t like he could really complain. He didn’t need it, and this girl clearly did.
As soon as her phone was plugged in, the girl immediately made a call. The first thing Jungkook noticed was that she switched to English as soon as the person on the other end of the line picked up.
“Yes, mom, I’ll be there for Christmas.” A long pause. “No, I’m not bringing him. We broke up two months ago, remember?” another pause. “No, mom, that wasn’t a joke. We really broke up.”
At this point Jungkook was slightly intrigued. What on earth was going on here?
“Moooommmm. That’s ridiculous. What do you want me to do, pick up some random guy in the airport?” the girl sent Jungkook a glance after saying this. “All right. Whatever. See you in two days.” She huffed and shut off her phone.
Jungkook quirked and eyebrow at her. She sighed.
“I suppose you heard all of that?” she asked, once again speaking in Korean.
“Um…yeah.”
“You wouldn’t happen to want to spend Christmas at some random stranger’s house, would you?”
It was clear that she was joking, but Jungkook was always ready for something exciting.
“I might be, why?”
“Don’t act like you didn’t hear that conversation.”
“All right, all right. It depends. How well does your mom cook?”

And so it was that two nights later, Jungkook found himself in a car with said girl driving on the busy roads of LA. He had since learned that her name was Bianca, she loved dogs, and she had three older brothers.
“I just can’t believe she’d rather I pull some random guy off the streets than having me just come home alone,” she shook her head as they drove. “I mean seriously! My brothers couldn’t even date until they were out of the house, and my mom practically expected me to be married by the time I moved out!”
Jungkook sent her a sideways glance before focusing on the road again.
“So, why did you break up with your ex?”
“He was a jerk. He cheated on me for at least three months before I found out, and when I did, I was quick to dump him. My mom was so sad when she found out we broke up. She thought we’d be married with a kid by next year,” Bianca shook her head again. She paused her rant to give him a few directions before continuing. “I have no idea why she wanted me to marry him. He wanted to stay in Korea for the rest of eternity anyway.”
“How long have you lived in Korea for?”
“I moved there for college a few years ago, and I liked it so much I decided to just move there indefinitely. It’s not like being at home is much fun, so I figured why not move to another country?”
Jungkook nodded. He couldn’t quite sympathize with her, but he loved his family. Bianca’s seemed to be anything but the perfect family.
A few minutes later, they pulled up in front of her parents’ house. What Jungkook hadn’t expected was for it to be a mansion. It was huge. He stared up at it for a few moments before Bianca interrupted his viewing.
“Come on, boyfriend. My mom doesn’t like people to be late.”
I hope you’ll continue the story/stories! They’re so cute ♡
