Tuesday evening
“Tae, do you know what time Jimin and Namjoon are getting home?” Jin, one of Taehyung’s other roommates asked as he prepared jeonbok-juk for dinner.
It was a minute before Taehyung looked up from his computer. “Sorry, what did you say? I’m working on a case.”
“It’s ok. I asked if you knew when Jimin and Namjoon are getting home.”
“Ah,” Taehyung looked at the clock. “They should be home in the next twenty minutes or so.”
“All right good. Did Jungkook take another nap or is he awake?”
“Jeon?”
“Mhm.”
“He’s playing Overwatch with Hoseok in the game room.”
“Ah, ok. I’ll go get them in a minute.”
Just then, Jimin walked through the door. His bright red hair was disheveled, and his tie wasn’t straight. Taehyung looked him up and down before raising an eyebrow.
“What happened?”
“Hmm…? Oh…uh…I got chased by an alley cat after work.” He ruffled his hair and fixed his glasses.
“Are you hurt?” Jin asked.
“I’m fine.” He nodded towards the hall. “I’m gonna go change, I’ll be back.” He headed down the hall.
Right after he walked down the hall, Namjoon walked in the door. “Dude, guys, there is the strangest guy staying at hotel. He’s super rich and he brought a bunch of boxes that he said were fragile with him. And then gave me W100,000 to take them to his room, but said if they got broken, he was suing the hotel.” Namjoon shook his head.
Taehyung and Jin just stared at him.
“Sounds suspicious if you ask me,” Taehyung looked back down at his computer.
“Tae, you think everything’s suspicious,” Jin replied.
Taehyung looked back up at him. “I do not. If I did, I would think that thing you are cooking is suspicious.”
Namjoon shrugged. “Tae is right, though. It is a bit fishy.”
Jimin came back out, with Jungkook and Hoseok trailing close behind him.
“I got the boys because I figured dinner was almost ready.”
Jin smiled. “I was just about to go get them.”
——————–
“Oh no…oh no, no, no!” Jimin dug through the pile of papers on his desk. “That report is due tomorrow! I better not have left it at work…” He sighed. “I guess I’ll have to go get it…” He grabbed his keys off his desk and headed out to the living room, where Jungkook was about to leave for work and Taehyung was, as usual, sitting in his armchair, working on a case, and drinking tea. Taehyung looked up at him.
“Headed somewhere?”
“I have to go get my report. I haven’t finished it and it’s due tomorrow.”
“Ah.”
Jungkook fixed his uniform before cramming his wallet in his pocket. “I have to go to work, see you guys in the morning!” He grabbed his keys and headed out the door.
“I’m gonna go get the report real quick,” Jimin said after waving goodbye to Jungkook. “I’ll be back in a few.” He headed out the door as well.
Taehyung sighed and got back to his work. “Be safe, Jimin,” he muttered under his breath.
