Hyejin had taken Jungkook back to her house, where she had washed the makeup off his face. He’d stood in her bathroom, his eyes closed, while she wiped a warm washcloth over his skin. This felt unusual; though, it shouldn’t. He was used to being groomed by a whole army of assistants and experts. But there was something extra special, a most particular, gentle touch that Hyejin was applying to his face that the others lacked. He felt pampered; he felt cherished. Maybe it was because he knew she drew no salary from her actions. She performed them purely out of care for him.
Once the makeup was gone, she pulled the washcloth away from his face and just studied him for a moment. He looked younger without all that stuff on his skin. She loved the light tan tint of his face. It complemented beautifully his dark eyebrows arching over his gorgeous eyes and his coal eyelashes that fanned out over his cheeks.
“Are you done?” Jungkook’s voice broke into her reverie.
“Not yet,” she whispered and brushed the washcloth against his cheek again. She couldn’t bear to stop looking at him yet.
But Jungkook had grown suspicious. He opened one eye and watched her observing him. He couldn’t help but quirk his lips upward in laughter at her openly studying his face while his eyes were closed. She saw his lips move, and her eyes met his with lightning speed.
“My turn,” he demanded as he opened his other eye.
“Your turn? What do you mean? I’m not wearing any makeup.”
“I noticed. Your natural beauty is shining today. I want to have a look.” He smiled at her and reached out to grasp her shoulders between his fingers. Then he began to move in a circle, spinning her around until they had changed positions.
“Now, close your eyes.”
“What?” she gasped, suddenly self-conscious.
“Well,” he responded, considering the situation, “you don’t have to close your eyes, I guess. You can watch me, I guess.” He shrugged his shoulders. “Just stand still for a moment while I study your face.”
He became overly dramatic then, widening his eyes and peering into hers for several moments as though he were a doctor examining a patient. Then his eyes slid down the slope of her nose to land right on top of her mouth. After several moments of observing him studying her lips, she exclaimed, “This is ridiculous!” Then she tried to walk out of the bathroom, but his arm jutted out in front of her.
“Tsk. Tsk. Where are you going, Hyejin?”
“I’m leaving. We’re done here.”
“I don’t think we are.” Jungkook was shaking his head back and forth. “Fair is fair. You studied me without my consent. Or my knowledge, even! It’s your turn now.”
“Jungkook—”
“Silence. Or I’ll kiss you.”
“What?!” Why was her heart pounding so hard right now? She suddenly felt dizzy. She closed her eyes to see if that would fix it.
“That’s better,” Jungkook replied, thinking she’d closed her eyes for him.
His eyes traveled over her lovely face. Over that noble brow framed by raven hair. Over her dark, perfectly arching eyebrows. His eyes played hide-and-seek among her eyelashes for a few moments. He’d like to plant a kiss among those tiny hairs. Was that strange? He had no idea. And he wasn’t about to ask anyone. Especially not one of the guys. He’d never live it down. At least not until one of them fell in love.
Then his eyes found her pretty, pink lips. He was seized by a burning desire to claim them as his own. He began to bend his head towards her. Just then, her phone, which was in her pocket, rang. Her eyes flew open. To find herself face-to-extremely-near-face with Jungkook. He was – what? – a whole inch away from her lips? She made the mistake of focusing on those pale red lips. They were beautiful lips, and they were moving nearer to her. Very slowly. She looked up into his dark eyes, and he smiled. It might have been a perfect moment, but she really didn’t want her first kiss to happen in a bathroom, so she pivoted and walked quickly out into the hallway.
Drats! She had hidden those lovely lips from him, but he would find them again!
No, not in the bathroom! How dare he?! 🤭🤭🤭🤭🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
