Yoongi smiled with satisfaction. She hadn’t been unaware of him after all. He’d seen a faint blush stain her cheeks as his eyes had caught her own. Then she’d looked quickly away from him. Too quickly to be indifferent.
He discovered that his feet were leading him towards her table. She continued to stare down at her book, her face once again veiled by her midnight hair. After a few moments, she tilted her head slightly and peeked over the curtain of her hair at him. He watched with delight as her eyes grew wide before she dipped her head and hid from him once more.
He was right there! Two feet from her! Her heart was pounding in her ears. She could feel the blood pumping through every organ in her body. She was suddenly frozen. As though every ounce of energy contained in her body was focused on pouring her blood throughout her veins, and none could be mustered to do aught else, not even to move an eyelash.
Yoongi was grinning widely by the time he crossed the remaining two feet separating them from each other. She was hiding from him! How cute was this?
“Is this seat taken?” he asked as he stood next to her table and gazed down at her bent head.
“No,” came her quiet whisper. It was all that she could force out between her lips. She still couldn’t move.
Yoongi slid into the chair next to her, setting his cup on the table and his bag onto the chair opposite hers. He turned slightly to face her. “I know you were watching me,” he admitted provocatively.
Her head snapped up suddenly. “What? Who said I was watching you?”
A smile teased his lips and leaked out of the corners of his eyes. “I did. You were.”
“No!” she whispered. “I was reading my book,” she lied. And then chastised herself for the lie.
“No? Well…I was watching you.”
Her head came up again. “You were?” Wonder filled her voice as another blush colored her cheeks. “Why?”
“Because you’re beautiful.”
Her eyes met his, and she simply stared at him. Yoongi thought she was beautiful?
—
Sanduni stared into Jimin’s devastatingly beautiful, chocolate eyes. He gazed back at her. His lips curved in a sweet smile.
“I like your hair,” she commented, her eyes never leaving his own.
“You do?”
She nodded.
“I just dyed it.”
“Yes, I know. Grace told me.” Sanduni pouted. “I’m sorry I didn’t get to help.”
“It’s ok. If you hadn’t been napping, Grace wouldn’t have met Jungkook in the hallway. And you and I wouldn’t be sitting here together now.” His voice was soft and sweet.
She suddenly grinned. “You’re right! Good thing I was tired!”
He laughed. “It’s a long trip. Of course, you were tired.” He leaned closer to her and whispered, “Are you feeling better now?”
Her heart picked up speed at his proximity. Jimin’s eminently kissable lips were so close to her own! If she leaned towards him just a smidge more, her mouth would collide with his. She contemplated it.
Jimin’s eyes twinkled as a teasing grin suddenly transformed his face. “What are you thinking about?” he whispered, and his breath passed over her mouth.
She tore her eyes away from his lips right before her gaze collided with his own again. “Uh…Uh…” How was she going to get out of this awkward moment?
He bent his head even closer to her own and whispered in her ear, “Were you thinking about kissing me?”
She squeaked. Like a mouse whose tail had been caught under the rocker rail of a rocking chair. Everyone at the table looked at her. Jimin instantly sat up ramrod straight. Then he laughed.
Sanduni punched him playfully on the shoulder, then she whispered fiercely, “That wasn’t nice, Jimin!”
He recoiled in mock horror and rubbed the spot that she’d hit on his shoulder. “You pack quite a punch, Sanduni, for such a tiny mite!” he exclaimed, but he was clearly unhurt by her small fist. He was also relishing her petite self; she made him feel taller.
I sighed as I watched them. Then I chuckled as I wondered what on earth they were discussing. Then I turned my attention to Sandra. I didn’t want her to feel like a seventh wheel while we waited for Hobi to arrive.
—
Still chuckling to himself, Jimin bent towards Sanduni again. “I was thinking about it.”
Wide-eyed, she stared up at him. “You were thinking about what?”
“Being nice to you,” he smiled mischievously again. His eyes brushed her long, dark hair as he imagined sliding his fingers through her luxurious, raven tresses. He bent closer to her and whispered in her ear so that only she could hear, “I was thinking how nice it would be to kiss you…”
She squeaked again and then blushed as Jungkook and Tae both began to laugh.
“Come on, Jimin, stop being a tireless flirt and give the girl some air,” Jungkook remonstrated him, even while his beautiful grin lit up his face and stole my breath again.
Tae addressed Sanduni, “Is Jiminie giving you a hard time, lovely?”
Jimin’s eyes skewered Tae. “Hey! Back off! Get your own girl! I’m the only one who gets to call her love-uh-ly!” Then Jimin turned back towards Sanduni. “You are, you know. Love-uh-ly. So love-uh-ly.” His eyes were caressing her face.
Sanduni sighed. This boy was driving her nuts.
Just then the door opened.
