Hidden – Chapter 3: Respect

Lucia wasn’t sure how she was going to concentrate on the movie at all now.  She was seated next to Yoongi.  Yoongi, of all people!  No wonder she’d felt so drawn to him in the lobby.  Of all the members of BTS, she had run into the one she had the most in common with.  She had a considerable amount of respect for this man.  Like her, he had overcome many obstacles in his life.  He had persevered through some pretty awful circumstances too.  She felt a special camaraderie with him.  She turned her head and smiled at him as the lights from the movie screen lit up his face.

He glanced at her.  And he knew.  With a sinking heart, he knew that she had finally recognized him.  He felt so disappointed now.  He knew it was silly.  But sometimes, he just wanted people to see him.  Yoongi.  Not Suga of BTS.  For a few minutes, by some miracle, she had seen just a regular guy.  He knew because she’d shoved her popcorn tub in his face.  She would never have done that to Suga.

Did he know that she had recognized him?  She sent him a furtive glance as the previews began to play on the screen.  His eyes suddenly made contact with hers, and she felt that same zing of recognition again.  She stopped grinning like an idiot and simply stared into those beautiful eyes.

Without meaning to, she whispered, “You’re my favorite.  I respect you and your journey so much.”

Her words were a comforting balm to him.  She was more mature than many of his fans.  No screaming ARMY here, intent on marrying him.  Or kissing him.  Or following him around with a camera and posting his picture on her Instagram.

“Thank you,” he murmured.  And then he relaxed.

She saw it.  He heaved a long sigh of relief.  She put her attention back on the movie screen.  It took all of her self-control to do so.  She really wanted to stare at him.  She longed to take his hand and draw him out of that theater into a restaurant booth somewhere.  Where she could really talk to him.

She wanted to read his heart.  She longed to enjoy his sarcastic sense of humor and his thoughtful comments on life.  She desired to search Yoongi’s soul to see if he held any of her answers.  But instead, she was stuck in a dark movie theater with him.  She laughed at the irony.  A million ARMYs would love to be in her situation.  Of course, they’d probably fantasize about kissing his sweet lips.  But Lucia wanted deeper things.  She was after his thoughts.

He feelings about him haven’t changed… I would still much rather talk with him the chase him with cameras (also, I don’t like running) 😂
