“You really think I’m being too hard on him? There’s a lot of people online who agree with me. Even more who attack him outright.”
“And they’re wrong!” Cami exclaimed through direct message. “They are heartless!” She hit the send button to cast that response into the net.
“So…Namjoon is really your bias?”
“YES!”
Cami was upset now. She wanted to turn her phone off and ignore this rude person. At first, she had believed this person was kind. Someone looking to be a true friend. But anyone who could treat Namjoon with such disrespect couldn’t possibly ever be her friend. Not really. They were just too far apart.
“You never told me why.”
“Didn’t I just? He’s an amazing leader. He stands up against all the pressure he’s under. He fights for what’s right. He’s sweet. He’s kind. He watches over the other six guys like he’s their father. He’s humble. Do I need to go on? I am proud of Namjoon.”
Silence.
Followed by…
…no response.
Cami read the time stamp on the last text from her new acquaintance. Three-forty-five. The minutes seemed to be ticking away. She glanced at the clock on her phone. It was three-forty-eight now. Still no reply. She sighed. Maybe she wouldn’t have to worry about replying to this rude person. Perhaps she’d cut Cami off first.
Story of my life.
But then it came through.
“You’re really proud of Namjoon?”
Cami nodded. “Yes,” she texted back.
“That’s nice.”
Now Cami was confused.
“Thanks for supporting him. You’re a really kind person.”
Huh?
Was this a trick?
