“Ok, so here’s what I’m thinking,” Moon slapped an inch-thick binder down on the table. The other three girls at the table looked up at her, confused.
“We should do a winter wedding on Jeju Island.”
Silence.
“Actually, that’s a good idea.” Hyuna turned to Nia. “I like this girl.”
“Moon, we don’t have time to plan a wedding right now. Work is ridiculous, and winter is almost a whole year from now,” Nia muttered as she ate her sandwich.
“Oh, trust me, when you’re planning a wedding, a year is nothing. We’ll be lucky to have this all planned by October if we start now.”
“What do you mean?”
“Nia, there’s kind of a lot of factors that go into planning a wedding. Unless you’d like to get married in a courthouse, which is definitely an option, but I’m assuming you don’t, so we’re going to need to start planning now,” Sua explained. “Especially if we’re going out to Jeju Island. I’m sure they book a whole year in advance.”
Nia sighed. “Well…I’ll have to talk to Tae before we do anything.”
“Well do it soon, because I already have a whole binder of ideas!” Moon exclaimed.
“How do you have that many ideas?”
“Let’s just say…enjoy planning fake weddings.”
——————–
Taehyung was sitting at his desk that evening, typing away. Even after work there was still stuff that needed to get done. Nia peeked her head in the door.
“Tae?”
“Hmm?”
“Do you have time to talk?”
He instantly stopped what he was doing and spun around in his chair. “Is something wrong?”
“Oh, no. I just had something I wanted to talk to you about.”
Taehyung nodded. “Meet me in the living room in five minutes.”
He walked out five minutes later to find her curled up in a blanket on the couch. Yeontan was trying to climb the blanket pile and Nia was laughing. Taehyung scooped up Yeontan and sat down next to Nia.
“Ok. What was it you wanted to talk about?”
“Well…a couple days ago, the girls mentioned starting to plan a wedding while we were at lunch, so I thought…maybe we should start now?”
“Oh, I see.” He smiled. “Do you have any ideas?”
“Apparently Moon has many,” Nia laughed. “I don’t really have a lot of ideas, so I was thinking I could have her and Sua help me plan it. You know, since Sua’s married.”
He nodded. “I’m sure we can just start with where we’re having it and go from there, right?”
“Probably. Moon suggested we get married on Jeju island next winter. The idea doesn’t sound half bad.”
Taehyung laughed. “I like that idea. It would be a nice getaway from all our work, too. Seoul is too busy.”
“So, Jeju Island it is, then?”
“If that’s what you want to do, we’ll do it.”
“This is your wedding too, though. Don’t you want to help?”
He shrugged. “I’m happy as long as you’re happy.”
Nia blushed. She wasn’t used to this yet.
“And besides, I’ve waited thirteen years to marry you. We could get married at the courthouse and I’d still be happy.”
Typical man, leaves all the planning to the woman!
