Hobi insisted he drive Moon home, and she didn’t have the energy to argue with him. Once all her food was packed away in her apartment, they went out to lunch. It was almost as if he’d read her mind because he took her to a little sandwich shop.
“You’re a friend of Nia’s, right?” he asked once they’d both ordered.
Moon nodded. “We were friends in high school.”
“Oh, really? I guess she really didn’t tell me much back then. You guys met again recently, then?”
“In January, yeah.”
“She must’ve been thrilled to see you again. She’d been looking for pieces of her past for a long time.”
“You were her fiancé, right?”
Hobi nodded. “I’m not sure I should’ve been, though. She was never in love with me.”
“I think you’re just what she needed. If you’d been someone else, she might not have been able to free herself.”
“I suppose that’s true. How is she?”
“Pretty good, I think. She and Tae are getting married today. They’re having the ceremony in November, but they wanted to get legally married now.”
“Oh, wow! That’s fast. They didn’t even seem to be dating last time I saw them.”
Moon nodded. The atmosphere had suddenly gotten very awkward. “Do you think you can move on from her?”
“I’m working on it. We were together for six years, so it’s been a bit tough. But it’s worth it. I wasn’t the one for her, and really, I always knew it. It was just hard to accept when she had no one else to go to. She was always with me, so it was hard to imagine anything without her.”
“Yeah…I get it. I hope it gets easier for you.”
“It already has. Now that I’m working more, it’s a lot easier. I’m not as lonely, either. My secretary is quiet, but he’s there most of the time. Even just having someone in the same room as me all the time helps. And it’s been nice to talk to you, too. I haven’t had someone to have a serious conversation with in a long time.”
Moon smiled. “Thanks for offering to bring me out to lunch. I was feeling really off when we ran into each other, and even this has helped me feel better.”
“Well, it benefitted both of us, then. May I ask what it was that was bothering you?”
“Uh…” Moon tapped her fingers on the table. One, two, three. One, two, three. “I have OCD, so sometimes things just feel…off. Not for any specific reason, either. Some days I’m just fine, but on others it’s really bad.”
“Oh, I see. That sounds horrible.”
“It is. But I just have to live with it. My medication helps sometimes, but it isn’t a permanent fix.”
Their meals arrived soon after, and they feel into a peaceful silence as they ate. Moon was liking Hobi even more now.

“Can you please explain to me how on earth we’re supposed to get the car? It’s raining cats and dogs right now!” Sua exclaimed as she stared out the window.
They hadn’t planned on it raining so hard this afternoon. The wedding had gone just fine. It had taken all of twenty minutes once they’d gotten in, but now they had to figure out how they were leaving. No one had brought an umbrella, and it was quite literally pouring outside. Thankfully, they’d had the smart idea to only bring one car, but that didn’t matter if no one was willing to brave the rain.
“I’ll go get the car,” Taehyung offered.
“Tae, you’ll get soaked! It isn’t worth it!” Nia told him.
“Sure, it is. The quicker we get out of here, the quicker we can get home.”
“I’ll come with you,” Jungkook informed Taehyung.
A minute later, the two of them were standing in the doorway.
“How’s this? You unlock the car, and then we run over there as fast as we can. If the key will work from here, that is.” Taehyung suggested.
Jungkook tried the key, and the two of them watched as the lights on the car blinked.
“Let’s go!” Jungkook exclaimed before running out the door. Taehyung followed after him, and Sua and Nia shook their heads.
“If they ruin those leather seats we have, they’re dead meat,” Sua muttered.
A minute later, the car pulled up and Taehyung popped out of the passenger seat with an umbrella in his hand.
“Looks like the car was prepared even if we weren’t,” he laughed as he entered the building. Sure enough, he was soaked.
“Let’s just get out of here.”
What no details about the wedding?!?! You better make up for it with the party! XD
