Nia’s phone was buzzing.  It was seven am.  On a Saturday.  Who was calling her this early?  She reached for her phone and pressed the ‘answer’ button.

“Hello?”

“Hey, Nia.  Is it too early?”

“Sua?  What are you doing up?  It’s seven.”

“Well, we’re at the hospital right now.”

“What?” Nia sat straight up. “Are you having the babies?”

Sua laughed before wincing. “Not yet.  The doctor said it could be hours.”

“Ah, that stinks.  I’m really tired.  Can I call you back in a few hours?”

“Yeah.  Sorry if I woke you up.” Sua giggled tiredly.

“Nah, it’s all right.  I was already halfway awake anyways.”

“I’ll have Jungkook text Tae in a few hours, how’s that?  I’m not sure I’ll have the energy to pick up the phone then.”

“All right.  I’ll probably see you in eight hours or so?”

“Yup!  See you – ah – then!”

——————–

Seven hours later, Nia was dragging Taehyung out the door to head towards the hospital.  The babies had just been born.  It wasn’t ten minutes before they were walking through the hospital lobby.

“Life is odd,” Taehyung laughed. “I never imagined I’d be visiting Sua at the hospital when she had kids.”

“Well, I never imagined I’d marry my boss, either.”

“Touché.” Taehyung chuckled.

A few minutes later, they found their way to Sua’s room.

“You’re here!” Sua grinned.  She had two babies snuggled on her chest.  Jungkook was sitting in a chair and holding the other baby.

“Oh my goodness, they’re adorable!” Nia grinned as she stared down at the little babies.

“Aren’t they?  We had a little surprise, though.  I got to use both of my boy names after all.”

Nia and Taehyung both looked confused.

“Two of them were boys.”

Nia laughed. “Really?”

“Yeah.  I was pretty surprised.  Do you want to hold one of them?”

“Yes, of course!”

Sua sat up and shifted one of the babies. “This is Jinri.  You can take her.”

Nia reached down and scooped the baby up. “Tae, look at her.”

Taehyung stared down at the tiny baby, a small smile on his face. “She’s very cute.  When are we going to have one of these?” he ran his finger over the little baby’s cheek.

Nia giggled. “Maybe soon.  Babies don’t happen overnight, you know.”

“Well, that’s just sad.”

——————–

“Are we going to have to do more shopping now?” Nia asked, laughing.

Sua grimaced. “Probably.  I mean, I have a decent amount of clothing for them, but I had more girl clothes because we thought it was two girls.”

“How about I go shopping this week?  I have nothing to do, and you’ll be here all week, right?”

“That sounds great.” Sua smiled. “Thank you.  I’m sure we have enough clothes to last, but it would be nice to have some more just in case.”

“Should I get going now?  You look tired.”

“I really need a nap.”

Nia stood up, collecting her bag. “I’ll be back tomorrow, then.”

“All right.  See you then.”
