“You’re what?!” Injeong exclaimed as she stared in shock at her father.
“You heard me. I’m marrying you off. You’re nineteen now, and one of my potential business partners agreed to an arranged marriage between you and his son.”
Injeong didn’t know what to say. She’d never thought this would happen. Wasn’t she too boyish to marry off? That’s what her father had always told her. He’d said if she wanted a good husband she needed to dress prettily and wear makeup. Or else he wouldn’t find anyone to marry her to.
But apparently that wasn’t true. Because clearly, he’d found someone. Her preference for shorts and sweatshirts hadn’t sent this man running, it seemed. Unless her father had somehow hidden the fact that she wasn’t a dainty princess. And she found it hard to believe that he had somehow hidden it. She’d been on magazine covers before as ‘the not-so-average heir.’
“We’re meeting them tonight for dinner. So…dress nicely, would you?”
Well, at least he hadn’t demanded she wear a dress. He’d clearly avoided saying that. Which was odd. But she’d use it to her advantage. She had many-a-suit that she had yet to have an occasion for. Mainly because she never went out. But part of her was scared to wear one. Even for her it was a bit bold. But she decided tonight she’d give it a shot.

Hobi was dreading going to dinner tonight. His dad had gotten him into an arranged marriage. And Hobi was not happy. He was only twenty-one. couldn’t his dad let him live? He’d heard that his fiancé was only nineteen. Which probably meant she was bound to be a handful. And a brat. They were all brats. Hobi had yet to meet an heiress that wasn’t a brat. They all had had the world handed to them since they were tiny. And now they thought they owned it all.
He sighed and pulled on his blazer before buttoning it. He was sure there was some way he could get the engagement broken.
When he walked into the restaurant twenty minutes later, the last thing he’d expected to find was a young lady who was wearing a suit and sneakers. He was intrigued already as he seated himself next to his father.
“Hobi, this is Injeong. She’s your fiancé.”
Hobi looked over at the girl sitting across from him. Unlike the other girls he’d met, she was wearing her hair in a high ponytail, and if she was wearing any makeup, he couldn’t tell. But the thing that caught him were her piercing eyes. The other girls he’d been forced to meet had been soft and flirty. He could tell this one would not be. She appeared to be a tiger. He smiled.
“It’s nice to meet you, Injeong.”
