Moonflower – Chapter 65: More than a Kiss

How could a simple kiss invade her soul with such beauty?  As Jungkook’s lips first pressed sweetly against hers, Jina could feel his tenderness for her invading her heart.  It caused such a longing to spiral up out of her core that she leaned into him, sliding her arm around his neck and drawing him near.

Which, of course, made Jungkook rejoice internally.  His lips curved into a smile over hers as his own arm found her waist and tightened around her, drawing her even closer.  His mouth moved gently over hers as a deep emotion overtook his heart.  Such a fondness for this prickly girl who had first saved him with her broomstick and then thrust it at him.  He grinned as he again saw her fathomless midnight eyes flashing fire at him that night.  Perhaps they’d hidden a burning passion that he was going to unwrap today in a much more delicious fashion.  He deepened the kiss slightly.  Testing the waters.

Was Jina ready for more than just a kiss?

She gasped and drew back.  Jungkook’s heart sank.  Was Jina not ready for more of him?  He sighed and lowered his head as his eyes slid shut.

“Jungkook?”

“Hmm?”

“I like you,” she whispered sheepishly.

Confused, he lifted his head, and those beautiful eyes of his found her own.  “What?”

“I really like you.  I have for a long time.  From a distance.  Then you attacked me both verbally and physically, wounding my heart.  For a few days I was so hurt by your actions.  And your words.  I thought I’d been wrong.  That the sweet, gentle boy I’d imagined you to be was a figment of my imagination.  I was so crushed.  Because I had wanted that boy.  But,” she paused, glancing down at the bed.

He missed her eyes.  “Jina?”  Her name was just a breath.

She found his gaze again with her own.  “The last few days,” an odd sound – like a sob – escaped her lips, “I’ve felt like you were wooing me.  Like you actually want me.  And I’ve seen glimpses of the sweetness I first detected.”  Her eyes dropped again.

His arm tightened around her.  “I do want you, Jina.”

Their eyes collided.  “You do?”  Breathless, she gazed into his flashing obsidian orbs.  “You want me?”

“Jina.”  He was gazing so deeply into her eyes that her stomach was doing flips again.

She couldn’t resist him.  Not anymore.  For months she had dreamed of this very scenario.  Being his wife.  Sharing his bed.  Engulfed by his tenderness for her.

She leaned towards him and eagerly pressed her lips against his own.  She gave herself completely to that kiss.  And reveled in the joy his lips released into her own.  This time she was the one who tentatively deepened that bond.

And, of course, Jungkook was more than ready to receive that beautiful bounty.

Then he set himself to accomplishing the delightful task of convincing Jina that a man could touch her in gentleness and with a reverent heart.  And make her feel cherished rather than used.  A blissful hour later, he was blessing Yoongi for forcing him into this marriage.
