Jordan sat on the couch, absolutely dumbfounded.
“I can’t believe you’re dating Jimin and you didn’t tell me!” she exclaimed dramatically.
“Hey! I am not dating Jimin! We’re just…friends.”
“Mhm, sure.”
Nani gave Jordan a sideways glance. “We’ve known each other for a week. Nothing could have happened.”
Jordan looked completely unconvinced. But the conversation was cut short a moment later as Jae entered the living room.
“Is Jinie still sleeping?”
Nani shook her head. “She went to take a shower.”
“Oh, I see. Well, I’m gonna head out. My sister wanted to get together to eat today, so I need to go get ready. We’ll probably end up having a late lunch,” he laughed.
Jordan nodded in agreement. “With how much it rained last night, my dorm might’ve flooded. I should get down there and make sure nothing’s wrong.”
“You guys want to get together for dinner tonight?” Nani asked.
Jae and Jordan glanced at each other before both responding, “sure!”
“Ok. I’ll ask Jinie if she wants to join us when she comes back out.”

Twenty minutes later, Jinie emerged from her room clearly dressed for a day out with her camera.
“You can head home. I’m gonna go out for a walk.”
Nani looked up at Jinie. “You sure? Don’t want me to come with you?”
Jinie shook her head. “I need some time alone.”
“All right,” Nani stood from the couch before walking over to Jinie and wrapping her in a hug. “Call me if you need anything, ok?”
Jinie nodded wordlessly.
“I’ll head out now,” Nani offered. She headed to the front door and pulled her shoes on before heading out the door. “Oh, by the way, Jae, Jordan, and I are going out for dinner tonight. You want to join us?”
“…I’ll think about it.”

Nani spent the day cleaning up her apartment. She had nothing else to do, so she figured she might as well do that. Around five, she decided to text Jinie. They were meeting for dinner at six, so if Jinie was coming, it was preferable that they knew soon.
“Hey, do you know if you’re coming to dinner tonight?”
Ten minutes passed without a response.
“Jinie?”
Nani gave in and decided to call her. Jinie picked up right before it the last ring.
“What?”
Nani wrinkled her brow. “You ok?”
“I’m fine.”
“Really? You don’t sound fine. You sound like you either have a bad cold or you’ve been crying.”
Jinie huffed. “Why did you call me?”
“You didn’t respond to my text. I was worried.”
The other side of the line was completely silent.
“Where are you?”
“…by the lake.”
The lake was huge, though.
“Ok. I’ll come find you. Please stay where you are.”
“Ok.”
Oh no what happened?!
