The next day came too soon. Jinie rolled out of bed at eight am with a headache. She groaned. This was not a good day to have a headache. She hoped the bright lighting wouldn’t make it worse today. She quickly headed to the bathroom to find the ibuprofen she had packed for emergencies. Not even five minutes later, she had a facetime call from Nani. She answered it.
“Jinie! Are you excited? Your shoot starts in an hour…” Nani’s voice trailed off. “Oh dear, what happened? You don’t look so good.”
“I don’t? I have a headache…”
“Oh…that’s not good.”
Jinie sighed. “It doesn’t matter. I just need to get through today and I’ll be ok.”
Nani sighed. “All right. But if you feel any worse, I want you to tell your boss and get back to the hotel to rest.”
There was a long pause before Jinie replied. “No promises.”
“It was worth a shot.”
Jinie laughed.
——————–
Ivory was bouncy all throughout breakfast. Jinie privately thought people around them might wonder what exactly was going on, especially since she herself looked like she was surviving on half an hour of sleep.
They were at the shoot not even twenty minutes later. They were greeted by Jason, one of the other photographers.
“You guys have to see this set! It’s amazing!”
He led them through the building to one of the rooms they were shooting in. It had been decorated like a forest. There were many trees and other leafy plants, and on top of that there was a small lake in the corner of the large room. The entire room was lined with green screens. Jinie’s jaw dropped. Where on earth were they? This was certainly the most extravagant set she’d ever seen.
She was about to ask Jason when the shoot started when their manager walked through the door with a tall boy on his heels. Jinie immediately recognized this boy as Hobi. He had a huge grin on his face and was wearing an outfit that made him look almost like a tourist.
“Good morning, Jason, Ivory, Sujin.” Their manager nodded his head at the three of them. “I’m going to assign you each to a shooting room today. How does that sound?”
The three of them nodded dumbly.
“We’re going to try to get everything done in the next four days, so we need all hands on deck.”
They were quickly split up and preparing their cameras. Jinie was definitely dreading the bright lights today. They never helped a headache. Right now, she wasn’t even intimidated by the fact that she was photographing BTS of all people. Her only worry was making it through the day without her headache turning into a migraine.
Her worries disappeared when Tae stepped into the room. She looked him up and down. And instantly wondered what on earth was going on when they planned this theme. He was wearing a bathrobe. A bathrobe. She nearly snorted. It did kind of go with the beds on set. And it wasn’t like he didn’t look good in it. It was a velvety red. The fabric certainly looked soft. She looked back up at Tae’s face. He was smiling at her.
“Hi…” he started slowly. “Are you ready for me yet?”
“Um…yes. Almost.” She couldn’t help but grin at him. It was rare to hear him speak English. She went back to finishing setting up.
“Are you from here?” Tae asked. Jinie nearly blushed. She loved his thick accent.
“Um, no. I’m from Chicago.”
“Oh, really? I love Chicago.”
She glanced up at him to catch a grin on his face. By now, she had completely forgotten her headache. Maybe today wouldn’t be so bad after all.
Sounds like it’s going to be a dreamy day
