Taeyeon and Jungkook finally arrived at Jungkook’s house. Jungkook pulled Taeyeon’s suitcase from the trunk and hauled it inside for her. The moment they passed over the threshold, Taeyeon fainted and her legs gave out. Jungkook instantly let go of the suitcase and scooped her up.
“Taeyeon?”
Then he remembered her saying she hadn’t eaten much food – or had she said any food – in the past week? Jungkook carried her over to the couch and laid her down, being very careful of her arm. Then he headed to the kitchen. Taeyeon needed food. Badly.
——————–
Jungkook emerged from the kitchen, finally having finished making knife noodle soup. Taeyeon was still knocked out on the couch.
Jungkook quickly headed back to the kitchen and ladled some of the soup into a bowl before slowly making his way to the living room. He placed the bowl, a spoon, and a pair of chopsticks on the coffee table beside the couch. Then he gently picked Taeyeon up and sat down, pulling her up against his chest. She whimpered slightly in her sleep, snuggling her head into Jungkook’s chest. Jungkook sighed. He really didn’t want to have to wake her now. But she needed to eat. So, against his will, Jungkook shook Taeyeon awake.
“Taeyeon, you need to eat.”
Taeyeon blinked her eyes open to look up at Jungkook. She raised her eyebrows.
“What…?”
“You passed when we walked in the house. Are you hungry? I made you some soup.”
Taeyeon’s stomach decided to answer the question for itself, growling loudly in response. Taeyeon groaned and rubbed her stomach.
“I guess I am really hungry…” she replied sheepishly.
Jungkook sat her up a bit more. Then he reached for the bowl of ramen and held it up to Taeyeon’s lips.
“Here, eat this before you pass out again.”
Taeyeon took the invitation gladly, taking a big gulp of the broth. Jungkook handed her the chopsticks, and she started shoveling noodles into her mouth. She finished the entire bowl in a record time of two minutes, broth now dripping down her chin. She did her best trying to lick her chin off, but her tongue simply wasn’t long enough. Jungkook grinned at her before grabbing a tissue and wiping her face and neck off with it.
“Feeling better now?”
Taeyeon nodded. “Much better. Thank you.”
Jungkook smiled. “I’m glad. Do you want to go back to sleep now? You seemed pretty peaceful with your head laid on my chest.”
Was it Jungkook’s imagination, or was Taeyeon turning pink? She definitely was.
“You ok?” Jungkook asked.
Taeyeon nodded slowly. “I’m ok…” she studied the wall for a moment. “Um…where’s my room? I need a nap.”
“Oh. I can take you there…if you climb off my lap.”
Taeyeon was turning redder now. She nodded again and climbed off Jungkook’s lap. Jungkook stood up.
“All right. Come on.”
Jungkook led Taeyeon down the hall to his room. He swung the door open and turned on the light. Taeyeon gasped.
“W-wha…? This…this is my room?” Taeyeon looked at Jungkook with a vulnerable look in her eyes. Her room had never been anywhere near this nice.
Jungkook nodded. “Sorry it’s a bit messy. I haven’t cleaned it in a while.”
“It’s ok. I love it.” Taeyeon smiled faintly.
Jungkook patted her on the back. “I need to go clean the kitchen. You get some rest.”
Taeyeon nodded before walking over to the bed and sinking into it. It was the softest thing she had ever lain on. She felt like she was in Heaven. She closed her eyes. Jungkook was so sweet…
——————–
Jungkook scrubbed the dishes in the sink. He hoped Taeyeon was comfortable. That bedroom wasn’t the nicest.
He finished up washing the dishes and then went to check on Taeyeon. He found her sound asleep buried under the covers. Jungkook smiled. She looked so cute when she was asleep. Jungkook walked over to the bed. He studied Taeyeon’s face. He ran his finger over the slope of her nose. Her skin was so soft. He pulled his finger away as she shifted slightly. He needed to get out of here. He pulled himself away and walked out the door.
Taeyeon opened her eyes as she heard the door shut. She touched her nose. She could still feel Jungkook’s finger there. How did she already like this guy? They had only met a week and a half ago. She knew she should get to know Jungkook a bit better, but even when she had done that in the past the guys still had been hiding something.
Taeyeon decided she would sleep the rest of the night. Maybe tomorrow would be a good day for once.
——————–
Jungkook and Taeyeon found themselves sitting across from each other at lunch the next day. The small but loud café was no distraction to the two of them. Taeyeon picked at her croissant with her fork, occasionally sneaking a peek up at Jungkook. Jungkook took a few sips of his tea every now and then, trying to figure out how to start a conversation. He watched as Taeyeon picked up her phone after it chimed with a notification. All of the blood drained from her face as she read it.
“What is it?” Jungkook asked.
Taeyeon inhaled sharply. “It’s…my ex…he’s trying to get back with me…” she looked up at Jungkook. “Help.”
“Marry me.” It was the first thing that had come to Jungkook’s mind. Was he insane to say it?
“Wha-what…?”
“Marry me. You’ll have an excuse to get this guy off of your back, and if your stepmother tries to come after you, you’ll have someone to legally protect you.”
Taeyeon’s eyes pooled with tears. “Really…? You’d do that…for me…?”
Jungkook nodded. “What do you think?”
“I…” Taeyeon thought about it for a second. Then she nodded. “Let’s do it. Let’s get married.”
OMG!!!!!!!! JK is sooooooooooooo cute!!!!!!
