Taeyeon blinked her eyes open and looked around.  She was laying in Jungkook’s bed.  But how had she gotten here?  She had fallen asleep…in the car?  She wasn’t sure.  She pushed herself up with her right arm, careful not to move her left.  What time was it, even?  She looked around for a clock.  She found one on the nightstand.  6:30 pm?  She was pretty sure she had fallen asleep around one, so that meant she had slept for over five hours!  She rolled out of bed and headed out to the living room.  Jungkook was sitting on the couch and eating a bowl of ramen.  He looked up at her.

“Hi, sleepyhead.  You feel better?”

Taeyeon nodded slowly in response.

Jungkook stared up at her.  She was so cute.  Her hair was a messy pile on her head, and she still looked a bit tired.  He smiled.

“What?” Taeyeon yawned.

“You look cute.”

And there it was again.  That tell-tale blush spreading across her cheeks.

“Oh…” Taeyeon responded softly.

“Come here,” Jungkook patted the couch next to him.

Taeyeon slowly made her way to the couch, sitting down next to Jungkook wordlessly.  She suddenly felt very shy.  She wasn’t used to anyone being affectionate towards her.

Jungkook set his bowl down on the table.  Then he turned to Taeyeon.

“Yeon…”

Taeyeon looked up at him, their eyes instantly locking.  Jungkook lost his ability to speak.  He didn’t know what to do.  So he simply gave in and stared into Taeyeon’s chocolate eyes.

Taeyeon stared back.  Wow, was Jungkook pretty!  Her eyes slid down the slope of his nose, finally landing on his lips.  She stared at his soft, pale lips now.  She tried not to think about kissing those lips, but that wasn’t going too well.

Jungkook had watched as Taeyeon’s gaze had shifted.  He was sure she was staring at his lips now.  He glanced down at her dark lips.  Oh, that was a bad idea!  Her lips looked kissable – really kissable.  And somehow he felt himself being pulled towards those lips.

Taeyeon watched as Jungkook inched closer, and closer, and closer to her.  She licked her lips nervously.  Jungkook was two inches from her now.  She made a bold move and leaned forward, closing the gap of space between them.

Jungkook sighed in bliss as their lips connected.  He reached for Taeyeon’s waist, pulling her closer.  Taeyeon let out a soft hum in response.  Their lips moved with each other for a minute before they pulled away for breath.

Taeyeon stared up at Jungkook, the air she’d just inhaled having disappeared.

“Um…” Jungkook started.  He was blanking.  Why couldn’t he seem to form words?

He didn’t need to ask his question, though.  Taeyeon’s stomach answered it before he could spit out the words.  It growled angrily.

Jungkook finally found his voice. “Do you want something to eat?”

——————–

Taeyeon rolled over in bed, nearly smashing her arm.  She needed to stop doing that.  She looked over at the clock.  Jungkook was probably at work already.  She climbed out of bed and headed for the kitchen.  There was a note on the counter.  She picked it up.

“Good morning, Yeon!  I have work until 4 this afternoon, so I’ll be home around 4:30.  If you’re hungry there’s lots of stuff in the fridge to eat, and I made some hotteok this morning that’s in there too.  See you this afternoon!

                        Jungkook <3”

Taeyeon sighed.  Well, she was starving.  She should probably go find that hotteok.

——————–

Jungkook looked out at the downpour of rain.  He was hesitant to walk to his car, but he had promised Taeyeon he’d be home by 4:30.  Jungkook checked his watch.  It was already 4:10, and in this weather it would probably take longer than his usual 10 minute drive to get home.  He sighed and hurried out into the rain towards his car.

Jungkook was almost home when his car suddenly stopped.  The water had gotten deep enough that his car had given up.  He glanced out the window.  Water would come pooling in if he opened the door.  His only other options were the sun roof and the trunk, and if he opened the sun roof water would get in as well.

He crawled to the back of the car and used his key to open the trunk.  He climbed out, his foot sinking into 40 centimeters of ice-cold water.  He cringed.  He quickly shut the trunk and began his frigid walk home.

Jungkook practically crawled through the front door ten minutes later.  His pants were soaked and dripping water everywhere.  Thankfully it was tiled where he was standing.  Just then, Taeyeon walked out.  Her eyes went wide.

“Don’t move.  I’ll be right back!” She ran back down the hall, returning a minute later attempting to carry three towels in one arm.  She tossed one at Jungkook’s feet to collect the water that was pooling, then she handed Jungkook the other two.

“What happened?” she asked as Jungkook started to dry himself off.

“Um…my…my car broke down about half a mile from here…and I had to walk home…” Jungkook replied through shivers.  He was shaking violently now.

“Ok.  Go jump in the shower.  I’ll…figure out how to heat up some soup for you.”

Jungkook nodded slowly.  He collected the soaked towels and headed to the bathroom.
