The Garden: Nani’s Journey

There is a garden blooming in your heart, a bountiful paradise where Love awaits you….

“Come away with Me,” breathed the voice.  “Come and stay with Me,” gave the choice.

Each and every night as Nani lay in her bed, this gentle tone invaded her head.

But she didn’t linger there.  For her mind was full of many a care.

Visions of schoolbooks danced in her head.  Pressures of family distracted her instead.

Yet one night, the voice pressed nearer.  To her heart and all she held dearer.

“Come away with Me.  Come and stay with Me.  In a place of peace.  I made just for you.  A sweet release.  From all you think and all you do.  Come and sit with Me.  Come and dream with Me.  Won’t you just please…come and be with Me?”

So Nani closed her eyes that night.  And dreamt of a place filled with delight.

She entered a lush garden’s sweet light.  And wandered through its peace that night.

She opened up her eyes to see all that Love had planted for precious Nani.

At first, a door before her did stand.  It was tall and stately, opulent and grand.

Carved of the finest, thick oak, this door did all her dreams’ fires stoke.

Embellished with tiny swirls, they reminded her of her sister’s curls.

Engravened with a Master’s touch, Nani found she loved it much.

She reached out one bronzed hand to clasp its handle so she could understand.

And with one touch, she opened that door so she could discover that there really is more….

Her heart ascending, she flung the door wide.  And then this beautiful girl stepped inside….

To discover a world of wonder.  Where lightning was born and so was thunder.

Her eyes she opened to a whole new world.  Its delights before her were instantly unfurled.

The greenest trees she’d ever seen.  Every single leaf had its own glorious sheen.

And other trees were filled with blooms.  They were releasing the most wonderful perfumes.

Their colors burst into the light.  Their scents surrounded her with exultant delight.

She would have lingered at that opening.  Yet a sweet sound kept beckoning.

So she turned to step towards a bubbling brook.  She was drawn towards it with just one look.

For the glories of a noonday sun bounced off its surface, and she was undone.

She set her gaze upon its face yet wondered at the light which its surface did grace.

For as she stepped closer to that scintillating stream, she had to wonder if this was just a dream.

She glanced upward at a deep blue sky yet found it void of a sun but knew not why.

Her gaze it swept the path to her right.  But still, she didn’t find the source of that light.

Her eyes they moved towards the left.  Still her curiosity remained bereft.

Slowly, she walked towards the gushing flow.  Drawn towards that stream, she just had to know.

How sweet were its waters?  How cool their touch?  Could they quench her thirst?  And tell her much?

So she dropped to her knees before sitting back…to see if the stream held what she lacked.

She dipped her toes into its warm depths.  And found a peace for which she’d long wept.

She closed her eyes and heard the song.  It drew her in.  Pulled her along.

Towards the voice that had once beckoned.  And its strength appeared greater than she had once reckoned.

Her heart its calming lilt invaded.  As along her soul, its luxuriant notes cascaded.

She possessed no words; she had nary a thought.  She was completely captured by it; yes, she was caught.

Within the purity of that sweet voice.  Instantly, she recognized that it gave her a choice.

She could come here whenever she may, or she could choose to stay away.

But Love’s sweet tones wrapped around her head, invading her heart, raising her from the dead.

Affection’s fond embrace warmed her soul.  Devotion’s caress made her whole.

So she sat on that bed of grass and let the hours fly by; she allowed them to pass.

Within the hold of her very best friend.  She knew Love would be there till the very end.

She had found the source of that brilliant light; it was burning in Love’s bright delight.

“Come, My love, and walk with Me.  Come, My love, and talk with Me.

“Come, My love, and enjoy Me.  And in time, you will see…

“That you were meant to be Mine.  And I was meant to be thine.”

She closed her eyes and found herself walking along a beach.  Not far beyond her reach.

Love held her hand and walked with her.  Love smiled at her and talked with her.

Love scattered petals upon that beach.  And beckoned her for one to reach.

She bent to gather that fragrant bloom and found some words written within its womb.

Three simple words that wrapped around her heart and made her feel that she was an essential part.

“I love you” was all it said.  But that voice was now ringing in her head.

Three little words invading her heart.  Cascading into every broken part.

“Read another,” came that soothing voice.  Yet again, giving her a choice.

This time more words greeted her eyes.  Filling her with such a comforting surprise.

“I was here, I am here, and I will be here.”  So there was no longer any need for her to fear.

For Love’s presence cloaked her in peace.  Devotion’s heart gave her sweet release.

And then He pulled her into His embrace.  And gazed down at her until they were standing face to face.

“Remember, I love you,” came His sweet words.  Their melody purer than that of hummingbirds.

She had forgotten the taste of His sweet waters.

She had not recalled that He favored her above all the daughters.

Her dreams had turned to ash as her eyes had wandered from His gaze.

But now in His presence, under His adoring stare, her heart was set ablaze.

“My darling, you are mine.  Of a precious and rare kind.

“Know that I love you always.  Come and bask in My eternal rays.

“Our hearts they do entwine.  With a purity divine.

“You are my priceless treasure.  I love you beyond all measure.

“So when the pressures mount, and your cares are more than you can count, come visit Me in our garden.  Do not allow your heart to harden.

“For I wait for you by moonlight.  So I can dance with you in sunlight.

“I linger in our garden, dreaming of our next meeting.  For you, My heart is always greeting.

“Won’t you come and sit with Me?  Won’t you come and dance with Me?

“I am breathing My words on you.  Can you hear them?  Have you a clue?

“Can you hear My sweet devotion?  Can you feel every beautiful emotion?

“They swirl within My heart seeking entrance to your own.  Would you, My love, let Me be your home?”
