Kaylee had spent a week now trying to figure out who her mystery man was. It shouldn’t have been too complicated. He was close to the only guy under 40 there. But she couldn’t find him no matter how hard she tried. She should’ve asked for his name. But she hadn’t thought of it until he’d already left.
Now she was sitting at her dad’s company in a meeting. She wasn’t actually paying attention to anything anyone was saying. She was staring at the guy seated across from her. His presence was sucking the air out of her lungs.
He had a sharp jaw and intense, dark eyes. His hair was parted on the right side and his bangs fell rakishly over his eye, making him appear more intimidating. He was wearing a crisp, navy blue dress shirt that formed to his fit body well.
She sighed. Maybe she should forget her mystery man. The man in front of her would probably be up to her father’s standards. Just then, the man looked over at her. She was pierced by his dark eyes. She felt s zing of electricity run through her veins.
He glanced away in the next moment, and Kaylee instantly missed looking directly into his eyes. Dark eyes had always fascinated her, even if she was the only one here who didn’t have them. Her eyes were an ocean blue. Sure, she could agree that her eyes were pretty. But she much preferred dark brown eyes.
“All right. We’ll discuss more about this on Friday.”
Kaylee looked over to where her father was seated. He stood up from his chair as he dismissed the meeting. She glanced back at the man. He had stood up and was pulling his black blazer over his navy button-up. This guy had good taste in clothing. He looked gorgeous in his outfit.
In the next instant, he was walking out the door, leaving her wishing she could see him again. She sighed. Now she had two mystery men to look for.
——————–
There he was again. The man in the navy button-up. Today he was wearing a crisp, white button-up. He looked very handsome in this shirt too. Maybe he just looked good in button-ups. Once again, his hair was nearly stabbing him in the eye as it curled over his eyebrow. She had to find out who he was.
He was following another man out the door in the next minute. She sighed. She never acted fast enough. Maybe she should just ask her father. Surely he knew.
——————–
“Dad?”
“Yes?”
Kaylee pushed the door to her father’s office open. She stepped inside cautiously and shut the door.
“Who was the man who was seated across from me at the meeting on Tuesday?”
