Chocolate Kisses – Chapter 36: A Kookie with Chocolate Eyes

I had given my heart away.  To a boy from South Korea.  To a Kookie with chocolate eyes and midnight hair.  To a man with a compassionate heart and strong arms.  To a voice that melted my bones and had the power to heal my heart.  To those obsidian eyes that could see right through me yet loved me anyway.

So this time when he bent his head towards me, it was the most natural thing in the world to respond to him the way my heart had always wanted to.  I leaned into him.

“Grace,” he whispered into my hair after a while.  He was running his nose back and forth over the top of my head, playing in my honey hair, his lips whispering across my scalp.  I sighed with contentment.

Slowly, I pulled away from him, infinitesimally.  Then I gazed up at him.

“Do you believe me now?” His voice was a breath washing over me in tenderness.

I stared into those beautiful, chocolate eyes again, gazing into the depths of his stunning soul.  I nodded, my eyes wide, my heart thundering now.

“I love you,” he breathed, right before he bent his head, and his lips found my own in a kiss of such sweetness that I felt it in every cell of my body.  All the way down to my toes…
