Jin stepped out of the gym and headed down the hallway towards the bathroom. Yura had been gone a long time. He was hoping she was feeling all right. When he was about to round the bend in the hallway, he came to an abrupt halt as he recognized her voice. And another voice.
It was the second voice that distressed him. Why was his girlfriend talking to his archenemy? That classification might be a little dramatic, but ever since the second grade, he and Seungbin had been foes. All because of Yura.
“Why did you come with Jin tonight? I thought you were going to tell him about us.”
“I just haven’t had a chance to,” Yura stalled. “We’ve been studying in groups preparing for finals. There was never a good time to break the news to him.”
Jin’s eyes widened in shock. And pain. A lot of pain. He peeked around the corner. He was sure his ears must be deceiving him. Surely, his girlfriend of five years would not cheat on him with his worst enemy? With the guy Jin had been defending her from for more than a decade.
There must be some kind of mistake.
But as his eyes found the two people his ears had identified, Jin watched in horror as Seungbin bent his head and brushed his lips across hers. His hand slid over her belly as he lengthened that kiss. She allowed it. She even leaned into it.
Jin felt like he was going to throw up. Or explode. He yanked himself back around the corner and leaned his long length up against the wall. His heart was running away with him.
There was no way this could be happening. He and Yura had had their lives planned out together forever. Forever. They were going to attend the same college. Graduate. Get married. Have two beautiful babies. And live happily ever after.
Except…Seungbin had just had his lips all over hers. And his slimy hand sliding across her belly. In the most intimate of ways. Like he’d trespassed there before.
Jin shuddered. He wanted to punch that guy. Square in the face. And a little off to the side too.
But right now, his hands clung to the wall behind him. He just could not wrap his mind around it. How could Yura be kissing his archenemy? She knew how much he and Seungbin despised each other. She also knew how much Jin adored her.
How on earth could she have kissed Seungbin? How could she break Jin’s heart like this? He’d given her a promise ring in the tenth grade. He had always seen her as his forever girl. He loved her so much. So much that he was willing to die for her. So much that he was willing to fight for her.
He closed his eyes as his hands formed into fists. He inhaled deeply. Several times. He was going to have to confront them. But first, he would calm down. After several long breaths, his heart still hammering his lungs, Jin leaned forward and rounded that corner.
He ran right into Yura. Alone.
He reached out to steady her. “Yura? Are you all right?”
He had just seen her kissing another guy, and he was asking her if she was all right? What on earth was wrong with him anyway?
“Actually, Jin,” she paused. Then her entire face crumpled, and she sobbed, “Nothing is all right!”
“What’s wrong?” Jin breathed, still terrified that he had already lost her. “I’m sure whatever it is, together we can fix it,” he rushed to assure her.
She lifted her tear-streaked face and her stricken eyes to his own. “No, Jin, I’m afraid we can’t.”
He stared down at her in great distress. “What? Why n—?”
“I’m pregnant,” she cut him off.
He stood gaping down at her. Because he knew he wasn’t the father.
Ou…. Well that is awkward
