A month into their secret relationship, Seungbin invited her to his house after school. His appa had still been at work. She’d told Jin that she was getting help from a special tutor after school every day to prepare her for their final exams. Jin had believed her. He’d been busy with some projects of his own anyway. So it was the easiest thing in the world to make her way, unimpeded, to Seungbin’s house.
He’d greeted her at the door, reached for her hand, and led her into his bedroom. He’d swung the door shut with his foot, then he’d bent to reach for the lock. He’d turned it. Stilling her.
“Seungbin?” she’d asked in a tiny voice.
“Just to give us some privacy if my appa comes home from work early.” His eyes had devoured her.
She’d felt a battalion of butterflies battering her stomach then.
“Seungbin?” she’d echoed as he’d reached for her.
“We won’t do anything you’re not comfortable with,” he whispered gently.
Right before his lips found the spot on the crook of her neck that he knew drove her wild. He spent several moments attending to it gently. Until she was practically panting. Then, he’d moved on to her mouth as his fingers did delightful things to the delicate skin on the inside of her arm. His kiss deepened, and his hands roamed. And, still, Yura let him do what he wanted to her.
After a while, he pulled his lips away from her skin. “Yura,” he breathed. His eyes delved deeply into hers. “I love you.”
Her heart released a pang as she remembered the first time another boy had said those precious words to her. She felt an army of qualms arise within her heart. She pulled away from Seungbin.
His heart sank. “What? What is it? Should I not have said it?”
She’d heard his heart breaking in his voice. She’d turned back towards him.
“No! No! Of course, it’s okay. It’s wonderful. You’re…” She furrowed her brow in surprise. “You’re wonderful.”
“Why are you frowning at me then?”
“I expected you to shove me into a corner. Or throw cinnamon punch over my head. But instead, you’re wooing me with soft kisses and tender touches. And I…”
He’d gazed down into her face. “What? You what?” As she paused, he lowered his head and nuzzled the side of her neck for a moment as his fingers caressed her elsewhere.
She shivered. “I think…I love you too, Seungbin.”
His eyes had lit up like the noonday sun had just risen in them. Then his gentle lips had found hers until he’d pulled away slightly to draw her down on his bed with him. Then they’d found her lips again until he left them to do other delightful things to her.
He had stolen her virginity from her that afternoon. In the gentlest way he knew how. But the guilt had been killing her ever since. She had always planned to give that precious gift to Jin. But somehow, she’d been drawn into Seungbin’s orbit.
How on earth could she ever tell Jin?
She couldn’t. So she didn’t. And she felt guilty every time his lips brushed hers. Either she was an excellent actress, or Jin was very distracted. He didn’t notice how cold their relationship had grown over the course of that last month. Even when they’d left for the dance, he’d been grinning down at her as he babbled on about how he’d been looking forward to this night for four long years.
And she had felt like the lowest scum on the planet.
