Yoongi stared at her, his heart racing. As the blood flow in his body increased, his eyesight became keener, and he simply stared in awe at the lovely girl sitting next to him. She was magnificent. Was she glowing? Her pale skin seemed to radiate light. Her great, dark eyes were round in her shining face. She appeared like she’d just stepped from the pages of a skin care advertisement. Perfect. Airbrushed. Did anyone really look this good in person? She did. Under the sunlight streaming in from the window behind her, he could see the finest pores in her porcelain skin. As his eyes crossed her cheek to follow the movement of her hand as she slid her fingers over her long locks to pull them behind her ear, he had to admit that even her ear was beautiful. He took note of the ironic fact that her ears were not pierced. He had more than one hole in each ear.
She had masses of thick, raven hair that curled slightly where it hit the middle of her back. He remembered from standing next to her. Some of those long tresses were curling over her tummy now, hiding her shirt from view. She had finely sculpted eyebrows that arched delicately over her enormous, chocolate eyes. He smiled. Of course, her eyes were crafted of the finest chocolate! Everything about this girl was sweet.
Mitsuko watched him as he seemed to be studying her face. Did he not want to tell her his name? He took a deep breath and then let it out.
“Yoongi.”
He held his breath and braced himself for the inevitable commotion that often followed the revelation of his true identity. Would she scream? Or faint perhaps? Maybe ask for a selca and his autograph. And this situation would go from pleasant to awkward. That would be the end of his makeshift date.
He was already regretting feeding her icing. Surely that story would be spread all over Twitter, Instagram, and Weverse by lunchtime! Hopefully, no one took a picture. He glanced nervously around before facing her once more.
She smiled at him. “Hello, Yoongi. It’s wonderful to meet you.”
Nothing. No screaming. No sighing. No fainting. No autograph or selfie. Though, he would actually love to get a selca with this beautiful girl. He grinned at her. What a relief! He was just a normal person today!
Then she frowned. And his heart dipped. She glanced at her phone. “I’m sorry. I have to leave. I have an appointment in thirty minutes. It’s up the street a ways. I’ve got to hurry since I’m walking.”
Yoongi couldn’t let her leave without asking her one more question. He recognized that he was risking a lot, but he was so taken with her that he just couldn’t shake the desire to know her better.
So he took a deep breath and dove right in, “Would you go out on a date with me?”
She looked at him with a funny expression on her face. “I might consider it.”
His eyebrows flew up towards his hairline. Of course, she couldn’t see them, but Yoongi could feel the wrinkles forming in his forehead as he stared at her in astonishment. “You might consider it?” He repeated her words back to her.
She nodded. “I would consider going out with you if you promised me something.”
Perplexed, Yoongi frowned, suddenly suspicious. “What?”
“Promise me that every date will revolve around dessert.”
“What?!” Yoongi repeated the same question but in a completely different tone this time.
“You really need to add some sweetness to your life. And I know I’ll enjoy our dates if there is dessert involved.”
“What?” Once again, a new note – this one mocking – appeared in his voice as he asked the same question for a third time. “I’m not sweet enough for you?”
She smiled at him. “Ohhhh…to the contrary. I think you are exactly to my taste, Yoongi.”
