After what felt like an eternity, Jisu walked through the front door, freezing and soaked to the bone. She closed the door and collapsed against it, sliding down to sit on the floor. Tae, hearing the door close from their bedroom, rushed out. Why had she been so late getting home? He came to a sudden halt as he saw her. She was thoroughly soaked from head to toe, and she looked very tired and cold. His heart melted inside his chest at the sight of her. Jisu lifted her head weakly to look up at him when she registered his presence. Her eyes were begging for warmth. He quickly knelt down next to her.
“Jagi, what happened?” He asked worriedly.
“I walked home…and I gave my umbrella to someone…” she replied lightly. She leaned her head against his shoulder.
“Oh no, baby…” He picked her up and took her to their room, placing her on the bed. He quickly helped her change into a pair of pajamas, before running to the bathroom to get a hair dryer to dry her hair.
As he dried her hair, he ran his fingers through it softly, sending shivers throughout her body. Once he finished drying her hair, he gently placed his hand on her forehead to check her temperature.
“You’re burning up,” he sighed, cupping her cheeks to find them burning as well.
Jisu shivered once again and leaned her head on his chest tiredly. “Can we snuggle?’
He smiled softly. “All right.”
He lay down in the bed, pulling Jisu with him. He pulled the covers over both of them and wrapped his arms tightly around her. She snuggled into his warm embrace, already half asleep.
Tae ran his fingers through her hair gently. “I’m sorry I couldn’t pick you up… You wouldn’t be sick if I had been able to…”
“It’s ok, it’s not your fault…” Jisu replied softly, her voice barely above a whisper.
He sighed. “I know…I still feel bad, though.”
When Jisu didn’t reply for a minute, he spoke again. “Jagi?”
He looked down to find her sound asleep on his chest. He smiled and kissed her forehead. “Goodnight, jagi.”
